Fantastic! Our guide Titus was great! Great driver Peter too. Memorable moment was with the Masaii dancing and visiting with hunter gather tribes.
Watching all the animals out in their natural surroundings. Sitting for 30 minutes to watch elephants walk across the plains then cross right in front of the jeep.
One of the top two trips of my life! (The other was Antarctica.) Not only did we see and learn about animals; we also met people and learned about their lives. Our drivers were also guides; they became our trusted friends too. Try to go during shoulder season. We were told things would get a lot busier during high season. We have been with Collette on several tours because we know we can count on them for a great experience.
high cost. should offer more affordable options. great tour guide, but he had to divide his time between 2 jeeps. day lunches were bad. better to offer coffee, wine, fruits, vegetables, maybe a cooler to carry better options. because I didn't have what's app, no one would share photos. after jeep safari had 6 hours to do nothing. would have liked something to do. paid my self for Nairobi tour, a total waste of time and money. paid for extra 1st day to get used to the time change but that was a total waste of money, since the first tour day was do nothing anyway. good dinner foods, but too much food was offered. less volume to say you money. skip the movie tour of "out of africa". that movie was 30 year ago and it was boring. i paid for the first land transfer with the hotel, but they forgot and I waited a couple hours. the local police helped me to contact the hotel. on the jeep rides, several people 'preferred" not to change seats. so I usually ended up in the 2nd row behind the driver which made it less enjoyable to see. I also would have like to have a few more stops for photos. but tour guide was mostly interested in the big 5 photos. I thought the country was beautiful and deserved more photos. I wish they would have suggested to take more cash in $1 bills so that I could tip the bathroom attendants. tour guide emphasized to tip him and the drivers. don't you pay them well? all in all, i would do it again, but only a 1 time trip because of the high cost
The tour was extensive and while active was not tiring. The drivers were excellent and eager to share their knowledge and experience with us. My vehicle included a person eager to see and identify all the birds we saw which added an extra layer to our adventures. The 2 most memorable events was watching the wildebeests racing across the plains all around us and being in the middle of a herd of elephants feeding and the youngsters playing all around us.
