Steeped in history, shrouded in mystery, the city of Venice floating on a lagoon has barely changed in 600 years. With a grandeur of astronomical proportions, this romantic city is one of the most iconic in the world, and rightly so. A visit to Venice will transport you back to the time of masked balls and secret love affairs, revelry and debauchery.

Nice small group of 12, Fabio was a careful driver, Danila was an excellent leader and being Australian had a similar sense of humour as all the guests which made life easy

Everywhere we were supposed to be, we were!On Time! Team ! ;) And, if you didn't want to take a particular excursion or meal, you didn't Have To! And every Bus Ride or Boatride...Right On Time!!!

The itinerary was just perfect. Getting to spend 3 days in each city gave us plenty of time to see and enjoy all the historical sites, and yet give us time for ourselves to explore as well.

Danila was so good! Knowledge of locations and history very good. Tips on restaurant and toilet stops and everything in between 😉 team work with her and Fabio made things work👍 they made a group of strangers become friends and bond a wonderful 12 days in Italy. A country I’ve never been to and was a bit nervous how it would go. I’d like the recipe for the lemon cake from Fishermans Island🤞🏻👩🏻‍🍳 Pls

Venice - Tour Highlights and Travel Tips

Venice Tour Highlights

  • The openness of the Basilica di San Marco and Saint Mark’s Square are a welcome reprieve from the tiny, winding alleyways that much of Venice consists of. The sheer size and grandeur is breathtaking.
  • The Gallerie dell’Accademia houses Venetian art from the 14th to 18th centuries.
  • Take a gondola ride along the winding canals and see as it should be seen - from the water.
  • Tour Venice’s Doge’s Palace, the home to all 120 past Doges.
  • Take a beach day away from the crowds on Lido island. You can even rent private cabanas.
  • See how the famous Venetian Murano glass is blown on Murano island.
  • Visit the markets of Venice that sell fresh produce daily.
  • Experience the centuries old tradition of Carnival and attend a masquerade ball.

Venice Travel Tips

  • The Venezia Unica Pass will save you money on attraction fees.
  • Avoid eating in a restaurant on Saint Mark’s Square, unless you’re prepared to pay.
  • Many small trattorias are located on side streets, barely visible from the main walkways. They’re often a little less expensive.
  • Venice is a maze, but that’s all part of the fun. Grab a map, start walking, and get lost as much as possible.
  • A trip to Venice during the Carnival is very expensive, but it’s a once in a lifetime experience.
  • Flooding is common, and if you holiday in Italy during a flooding period, be prepared by buy waterproof shoes and walk on gangplanks to avoid the flood water.
  • Summer time is jam-packed with tourists, while winter is liable to bad weather. Spring and autumn are perfect times for your Venice holiday.
