Itinerary
Dive into the vibrant heart of Java with the "Yogyakarta Culture & Historical Tour"—a family-friendly adventure that blends natural beauty with centuries of tradition. Explore the base of the active Mount Merapi by jeep, marvel at the Buddhist and Hindu temples of Borobudur, Prambanan, and Dieng, and stroll through the city’s royal palace. Yogyakarta, Indonesia’s cultural capital, offers a kaleidoscope of experiences: from ancient art and batik handcrafts to lively dances and contemporary galleries.
What sets this tour package apart is its holistic approach—combining sightseeing, temple exploration, and hands-on cultural encounters for an unforgettable family journey through Java’s most celebrated sights.
day 1 - Arrival: Yogyakarta - Maerapi Lava
Arrive in Yogyakarta and meet and greet with your guide at the airport, then we drive to the Kaliadem area located on the slope of Mount Merapi. Here we can experience the volcano from the closest spot.
Enjoy the Lava tour: With a 4WD Jeep, explore the foot of Mount Merapi after the eruption.
In the late afternoon, we drive to Yogyakarta and check in at the hotel and stay overnight.
day 2 - Borobudur Tour – Dieng Plateu
In the morning we visit the magical temple of Borobudur, the largest Buddhist temple in Indonesia, built in the 9th century. From your guide, you can learn more about Buddhist philosophy by exploring the relief at Borobudur temple, before heading back to the hotel for lunch.
Next visit Dieng Plateau. Here, you can explore Arjuna temple, a Hindu temple complex built in the early 7th century and well-known as the oldest Hindu temple in Indonesia. We’ll also visit the Sikidang crater, one of several craters in the Dieng Plateau, and Lake Warna (Color Lake), an exquisite lake ringed with highland forest. The turquoise and cobalt-hued water gets its unique color from sulfur reflected by the sunlight.
Back to hotel.
day 3 - Yogyakarta City Tour – Prambanan Temple
After breakfast, we head out on a tour of Yogyakarta city. Visit Sultan Royal Palace, Water Castle (Taman Sari), Batik Home Industry and Silverware at Kotagede. Lunch will be provided at a local restaurant. Then after lunch, continue to Prambanan Temple, a Hindu temple from the 9th centure dedicated to the god Shiva.
Late afternoon drive back to your hotel and stay overnight.
day 4 - End of tour
Have breakfast at the hotel, then enjoy free time until the appropriate time to transfer to Yogyakarta Airport to catch your flight to your next destination.
