Introducing Indonesia
From the busy streets of Jakarta to the quiet, undulating hills of Bali, Indonesia offers a lot of variety in terms of destinations and experiences. Go on a sailing trip from one tropical island to the next in East Kalimantan and lay down on pristine beaches. Else, surf on the wave-rich waters off the coast of Sumatra and discover the vibrant marine life in its reefs. Then go on a hiking trip through the paddy terraces of Ubud or clamber to the top of the Una-Una Volcano.

When to go to Indonesia
The high season in Indonesia runs from July to September when the weather is clear and sunny. But this also means that you will have to share the beaches with crowds. The other option is to visit the country in either April or October when the weather is still enjoyable but there are far fewer people. Indonesia’s low season (lasting from November to March) coincides with the monsoon when the hills are drenched in rain and the beaches overflow with water. Learn more.
How long to stay in Indonesia
You should look forward to spending at least two weeks in the country for a full immersion into Indonesian culture. This will allow you enough time to relax, have fun and explore the country. Else, you can go for shorter tours that just focus on one region and a few highlights. For example, a four-day exploration of Java or a long weekend in Raja Ampat. Our suggestion is that you give yourself ten days in Indonesia to get a better overview of the country and its highlights. Learn more.
Must-visit destinations in Indonesia
It would not be an Indonesian holiday without a few days in Bali, where we suggest that you explore the artsy city of Ubud, visit the Monkey Forest, and see the iconic temple of Pura Tanah Lot. A trip to the Nusa Dua Islands is a must for nature lovers and water sport enthusiasts. Stroll through Jakarta’s Kota Tua neighborhood, home to Dutch colonial architecture and numerous museums, before heading out to summit the iconic Mount Bromo. Then chase giant lizards in Komodo National Park before taking the less-trodden path to the remote hamlets of the Baliem Valley. Learn more.
