Journey from Hanoi, Vietnam, to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on an adventure packed with cultural and natural marvels. In Vietnam, you’ll cruise among limestone cliffs in Ha Long Bay; delve into culture and history in Hoi An; and take in the high-octane street life of Ho Chi Minh City. You’ll then travel to Siem Reap, Cambodia, to visit the temple complex of Angkor, one of the great archaeological wonders, before journeying to alluring Phnom Penh, where this ultimate-highlights journey concludes.
day 1Adventure starts in Hanoi
Begin your adventure in Hanoi, a city with unstoppable energy and faded French architecture. Familiarise yourself with street life in Hanoi by wandering the tree-lined avenues.
Around 6pm, say xin chào to your tour leader and fellow travellers, when we gather as a group for the first time to get to know each other and learn more about the adventures ahead.
Your tour leader then ensures a big welcome by arranging a group dinner at a nearby restaurant.

Great intro to both countries
A very enjoyable trip highlighting a few places/aspects of each country. If you do not have more time, this is a great intro to both Vietnam and Cambodia. Well organised, varied - in spite of limited time, we felt, we've seen a lot. The activity level was low as described, the pace was a bit more than expected, requiring early rises on many occasions, but this enabled us to see as much as possible, which we wanted and appreciated. Accomodation was of a slightly lower standard than expected (by reading travel notes), but overall it was OK. Plus if this is your first time in the country, it is hard to know what the norm is.

Highlight of Vietnam and Cambodia - Nov 18 - 29, 2024
As per the trip title our 12-day adventure was designed to visit many of the better known locations in both countries including Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Hoi An, Ho Chi Min City, Angkor Wat and Phnom Penh. We traveled by a combination of minibus, boat and plane during our time in these two countries which maximized our time to visit the many interesting locales.
A Fantastic Trip - Brilliantly Organised
An efficient mix of road travel, internal flights and the cruise in Ha Long Bay. Our guides, Bon in Vietnam and Chesda in Cambodia, know so much and easily chatted and informed us of history, culture and modern-day life. The trip notes were a summary of what we did, with additional experiences offered almost daily which enhanced our opportunities to see, learn and experience. Our small group of like-minded travel companions gelled well from the start and Exodus delivered once again.
