Be welcomed to the Albert's home where their family have farmed the land for generations. Enjoy a traditional Tyrolean lunch surrounded by spectacular scenery.
Cologne Cathedral: The towering Cathedral of Cologne is an impressive introduction to this riverside city.
Rhineland: Cruise beneath the semi-ruined castles and terraced vineyards. Sleepy villages slip by as you saunter upstream to the Lorelei Rock where the enchantress lured sailors to their doom.
Heidelberg: See the magnificent castle built in red sandstone, overlooking the Student Prince’s town.
Colmar: Join your Travel Director to explore the heart of Colmar, where colourful half-timbered houses, canal-lined lanes and flower-filled squares give the town its storybook charm. As you walk, you’ll discover why this Alsatian gem has inspired artists, winemakers and visitors for centuries.

The additional Positano trip is not value adding to the itinerary. It is rushed and at the end of a full day. We would definitely have preferred to stay longer on the Isle of Capri or have enjoyed Sorrento. We enjoyed many features of the itinerary such as Engleberg and Assisi although the accommodation at the later was not enjoyable. Having such an experienced Tour Director and capable driver elevated the overall experience.
Its jam packed! But a great sampler of Europe! Our tour guide, Richard and our driver, Pesquale had so much knowledge! They were the amazing duo! We really had a blast! The hotels and the sights were 1st class! The trip left us wanting more. All of the excursions were well planned. Thank you Trafalgar for a great trip!
Very long days on the coach but to see all we did it was necessary. Just need to be aware there is a lot of walking and a lot of going up and down stairs
Very intense 18 days with very little time to yourself. Saw a lot over the 18 days but some days were far too long. It was well organised tho. Our guide however was exceptional. Can’t fault her
I would have preferred less people in the bus, it was too packed. Felt like we were Jamed in like sardines as bums on seats sells tours. There was very little leg room in some of the seats and on long journeys this was not very comfortable.
This was our first trip to Europe and we wanted to see as much as possible. The itinerary was busy and a lot of ground was covered, but we knew that up front and would not of been able to see so much on our own. We did all the optional extras which added so much more depth to the trip. You could chose not to do the optional extras if you wanted some down time. We paid for the optional extras on about day 3 or 4. Our Tour Director Brent was so experienced, pleasant and fun. He tweaked the itinerary to make the most of our time in each destination. We skipped the line at so many sights which was excellent. Yes we had early starts and lots of walking but you make the most of each and every day. Majority of the days were breakfast and bags out by 6.30/7 and on the bus by 7.30/8. There were some long bus days. We made restroom stops every 2 - 3 hours. The seats were rotated daily. The 2 Night stays are better and I think the itinerary may be changing slightly for 2026 to include an extra 2 night stay. We got to see so much of Europe, every day was so fantastic and so special. We ticked off so many sights. Breakfast included every morning was good and all accommodation was of a good standard. Some rooms did not have tea/coffee facilities so take your own kettle and cup and tea/coffee if you cant wait until breakfast. TD, Brent would advise on places to eat and places to do laundry which we did twice on the trip. He was a wealth of knowledge of history and highlights of each region.
The staff was great. From the tour director(), the local guides and the coach driver(). The tour seemed to get better each day!!
It was a whirlwind tour. We were expecting that. We called it a “sampler”. It was a fantastic experience for first time European travelers, which we were. Got to see the highlights of each destination. The picture I took in Capri is my favorite. We found out that our tour director is an accomplished oil painter. When I showed him the picture he sent it to himself. I think he is using it for his next painting!! European history was impressive. Loved that part of the trip.
An excellent trip, our guide provided excellent tips and advice. Some long bus rides and early starts, but other than that it was a dream. There is plenty of time to go exploring on your own. Highly recommend.
Yes it was a truly great experience, mimmi the tour guide was incredible
This is our second trip with Trafalgar and to be honest already planning our next trip with Trafalgar early next year. It was a wonderful experience. is our TD and is our driver . They took care of us . The details of the itinerary is superb . The drive in each places that we go to is kind of long but it’s worth it because some of the places is unexpectedly charming . Anybody planning the trip of traditional Europe ask for and . Quite a good pair . One is an experienced and knowledgeable TD , the other will take care of you well , an expert driver . Can’t wait for the next adventure.
A great trip and a feel for Europe. Covered a lot of countries, in the time frame given. But felt it needed to be over 21 days not 18 days.
Excellent scheduling
Great itinerary. It would have been nice to know the price of the optional tours ahead of time and also if one did not do the tours, what the options where.
Enjoyed every moment of it
Itinerary was very efficient and very well planned.
Very well Planned. Didn't have to que anywhere. All excursions were well planned
The trip was really good thanks.
The Tour Director, added so much value to this trip. His deep knowledge of the history of each place we visited was so valuable. His advice on what to see and where to go in our free time was spot on. I don’t believe this trip would have been as incredible and beyond my expectations without . The detailed planning that went into ensuring every day was simply special was amazing. What an awesome asset Trafalgar has!!
Our tour guide was awesome. Our bus driver was lovely. And the bus was comfortable. We were fortunate enough to have an awesome group to travel with. The sites we visited were amazing. The food we ate was delicious. The hotels were pretty good. Our experience was wonderful.
Great itinerary that gives you a bird’s eye view of Europe.
Perfect trip! Loved our tour guide ! We saw so much and everything was so organized and the hotels, resturants were top notch! A trip for lifetime! I would go again!
Fabulous trip in June / July with a great group of people. Tour Director and Driver were helpful, professional and fun. TD Mimi was a great advocate for the group and she took care to know each guest individually. The itinerary was action packed and a great way to see the highlights of the countries visited. We travelled during a heat wave and appreciated the necessary tweaks to plans to ensure that we were able to enjoy things despite the 39 degree days. We had not been on an organised tour before and everything was just so easy compared with travelling independently.
It was a wonderful itinerary, and our tour guide made it a trip of a lifetime. So many memories!
That it is fairly go go go. Introverts might struggle as there is not much 'alone' time. At this time of the year it can be hot! 28-39 degrees for 2 and a half weeks so you don't generally wear anything twice in a row. Not much time to do washing but little and often in the bathroom sink works others found laundries with their big bags of washing a couple of times. You can drink the water most places we stayed there was water taps or fountains in a lot of towns so you could refill your water bottles and save money along the way! and were the stars of our trip.
We did the Traditional Europe June 2025. This is a wonderful way to see Europe. We had a great TD in Jonathon Newsome his knowledge and stories kept us entertained. It is fast paced with lots of early starts i.e. bags out front rooms at 6.30am and on the bus by 7.30am, but this was awesome as when we got to the major touristy attractions, we avoided the crowds. There is a fair bit of walking up to 30,000 steps a day, so you need to be relatively active and if you're going in summer its very hot, so bring a hat. Best thing is to sit back, relax and enjoy the trip, you will have a great time and make some awesome new friends.
The layout of the tour was excellent. The early mornings and evenings worked well so we could take in as much of what was offered in each destination as possible. There was adequate downtime. Places like Lucerne, The Vatican, The Colosseum, Pompeii, The Amalfi Coast, Venice were awe inspiring. My husband had different highlights. We travelled with our friends and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The photos don't always paint the fun, excitement and spectacular experiences... We enjoyed meeting many people from different countries and using the French we learned in school to communicate in French speaking countries. They like when we try. :). Seeing the Pope was an added bonus. Walking in the Adriatic, the Mediterranean and the waters on Capri were so warm. Our tour guide had so much experience, he could arrange the tour so we got as much as possible from it. The only complaint I had was the food on the last day. Compared with every other meal, it was plain. The breakfasts were plentiful. Healthy lunches were available en route and the optional experiences were especially fabulous. I highly recommend this trip. :). BTW: I found a wine window while in Florence. Many backlist items were checked. :)
Terrific experience, great places, very knowledgeable tour guides, some days just too long with early starts.
Our tour guide was excellent! He anticipated our needs & was very approachable, informative & gave us great perspective. I didn't like the sales pitches after the Murano glassmaking (there was 10-15 sales people following us around), gold shop & leather shop. More down time to relax would be appreciated. It was great to get an early morning at attractions & made for long travel days. I did have fall at the perfume factory outside the bathrooms when I walked into the tap on a round cylinder. The bruise on my leg was the size of a watermelon. There should be warning signs or protectors around the water spout.
Apparently the bus we travelled on was a Cost Saver bus and others on the tour who have previously travelled with Trafalgar said it was a smaller bus and not as comfortable. Also, on tour there were some tours that we wished to do from the itinerary but these were not available as the Tour Director viewed others better.
