Honest insights from past guests on our City sightseeing Holland tours
Bus trip is a very easy and efficient way to see much of the Benelux towns and cities. It would be difficult by car. Our driver was amazing. The history given by the guides and trip director made the trip interesting without being overwhelming. Short bus rides between cities and sites made the days interesting.
It is fast paced but with down time that provides a chance to rest and regroup. Our tour director was brilliant and worked hard to ensure we visited icons and attractions with the least amount of tourists there which was so much more enjoyable.
Bern was an absolutely outstanding tour director—knowledgeable, organized, engaging, and truly delightful throughout the trip. This tour is definitely a “quick highlights” experience of each country, but we thoroughly enjoyed it. The visit to the family winery in Germany and the family farm in Switzerland were especially memorable and authentic experiences. Overall, the trip was nearly perfect, with one notable exception: the overnight hotel stay in Germany. The accommodation, located adjacent to a train station, fell well below the standard we expected from Trafalgar. Had the tour ended there, we likely would not have recommended it, as we were extremely disappointed with that portion of the experience. Fortunately, the remainder of the tour exceeded expectations, and we ultimately enjoyed the experience very much. A very special thank you to Bern—she is truly one of Trafalgar’s best.
It was a trip I had wanted to take for some time. It met my expectations. I wanted to visit mainly Canadian sites and memorials. Sites were impressive, well kept and displays and commentary were well done. Would recommend this trip to anyone interested in history.
Lots to see - medieval architecture & much earlier, beatiful churches, WWI & II historical sites, different languages & cultures, Kukenhof flowers, bicycles everywhere, windmills.. Lots of cobblestone walking almost every day- need to wear good shoes. There were long days to fit in all the destinations - limited down time at hotel to relax before supper. Best down time was on the bus en route to next destination.
This was our first Trafalgar tour, and it exceeded our expectations. Everything was run with precision. Our travel guide and driver were the best! The local specialists were knowledgeable and loved their jobs. The optional tour to Ypres was a highlight for us. The hotel in Brussels was in walking distance to a wonderful park that had a classic car museum and a military history museum. This was perfect for the morning we landed. There is also a metro stop right there to take you to city center. We saw wonderful cities Maastricht, Dinant. I would recommend the optional tour to Antwerp add more time. Since there was no included dinner that night, two extra hours would have been nice. I would have liked to have seen the train station in Antwerp as it's supposed to be the most beautiful in Europe. The lunch stops were great as in a lot of choices for food. We had enough time for lunch and a little walk around. The included meals were good. I thought the included one in Bruges the best. Overall, we loved our trip and we saw a LOT.
