Amsterdam Tour Reviews
Guest reviews from travelers on tours in and around Amsterdam
The tour includes beautiful medieval villages in Belgium and the Netherlands. The countryside in both countries is very pretty. In Brussels and Amsterdam there are impressive historical buildings, monuments and statues.
It was a great itinerary. I especially appreciated how we had multiple nights at each hotel. It made the pace of a bus tour (always quick) feel less frenetic. The choice of cities was strong, and I thoroughly enjoyed the optional excursions in which we participated.
This is a great way to see lots of Europe in 26 days. So much to see but did seem rushed. We had the best ever Tour Director, the coach was first class with so much room, accommodation was excellent. Lots of travelling but totally worth it.
Although there is a lot of ground covered, the experience is profound, moving and heartbreaking. You cannot help but feel for the brave men that gave their lives the difficulty of the landscape they fought on and the sacrifice that affected everyone during this time. We covered Canadian, American and Australian battlefields, cemeteries and wonderful museums dedicated to WW1 & WW2, we learned so much. Our tour guide George was excellent shared so much interesting information while driving on the coach and he looked after our group of 36 so well, George is a treasure. Our driver Eric was amazing how he maneuvered the coach on those narrow roads and tight corners brought rounds of applause each time. I was 1 of 11 women on board I am so very happy that I took this tour with my husband I know I will never be the same after having had this experience. Thank you Trafalgar!! for a wonderful itinerary
It was sometimes fast paced, however, there is no other way to see that many countries in such a short span. On average, one was given about 90 minutes at every city stop to listen to its history, explore and have drinks, eat food, shop, etc.. The days went by fast and time was limited. This excludes the cities where one would stay overnight. In those cases, one had much more time to venture out. If you don't do the excursions or options, one will have even more time to explore. However, the excursions and options are highly recommended! We loved the trip!
The itinerary is fast and very informative with lots of options to do as little or as much as you want to. The optional experiences ate great value often including a meal I would recommend doing as many as possible
