Valdez: Enjoy a cruise across Prince William Sound where you will have the chance to spot sea lions, otters and seals.
Very diverse and beautiful. Weather was cloudy and rainy for one of the cruises, so we couldn't see as much. The hotel in Valdez was not the best, with the people above us stomping around all night, hard to sleep, and the dining area was dirty. The travel director, Kip, was wonderful! Very upbeat, informative and knowledgeable. Had a lot of fun with him and the bus driver. Overall, we had a great trip and saw the sights and things we wanted to, and added things also.
So much better than a cruise! You see so much more of the interior of Alaska. We were escoered to 5 towns, took 2 buses, 3 boats and 1 train.
Majestic Alaska is an awesome trip. It is so much more than even described. If you want to have a great Alaska experience- book this trip!
Got to see a lot in short period of time. Nice itinerary and great tour organizer.
My experience on the Alaska land tour was fantastic, with stunning landscapes, knowledgeable tour director (*personal info removed by Feefo*), and well-organized itineraries that showcased the beauty of Alaska. The included activities, like scenic drives and visits to national parks, were highlights, offering breathtaking views and opportunities to learn about the region’s culture and history. However, I found the Tundra optional tour to be overpriced and quite disapointing i.e. hardly any wildlife sightings. Notwithstabding, it is still a very memorable trip with room for improvement in the value of optional excursions.
This trip was very enjoyable - we were the only Australians in a bus of 24 US citizens. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The last day in Seward was a very long day which left most very tired at day's end. Some had early flights home the next morning which caused some to miss the day or left them very tired. The accommodation was very nice - the meals at organized events was OK but it is very difficult to feed so many people at once - chicken, frozen vegies and rice got a bit monotonous. We ate mostly at local restaurants rather than in the hotels. Our Guide and Driver were fantastic. We had some wonderful experiences.
It hit all I wanted from visiting Alaska. Could of past up the ox farm and had another hike in Denali but the director and driver were great knowledgeable and kind
The scenery was amazing. The only thing I could have skipped was the panning for gold.
Initially we were unsure about the itinerary, seemed like some items/stops might not apply to us. As the trip progressed we found we learned a great deal more about the areas because of these stops. The itinerary was full and we were kept busy. We visited places that were wonderful and possibly not as easily accessible had we been on our own. We are very pleased wit *personal info removed by Feefo*, and our coach driver, *personal info removed by Feefo* added a great deal to our day to day activities…they were a wonderful addition to our day to day routine.
our tour guide was wonderful both as a guide and as a person. She helped make the trip more fun. is an excellent driver and we were relaxed in the coach. Many wonderful people on the trip. The sites were beautiful. My wife and I had a great time. The itinerary should include the time frame of the tours daily to better prepare the customer. The Hilton in Anchorage was disgraceful- room not clean and both elevators down when we arrived so that one had to either wait or carry their luggage up many floors.
Felt I paid a good price for an activity packed adventure with an excellent tour director Jane and a very dependable driver . The main event was the natural beauty of Alaska. Weather is so important on this tour. The accommodations were often not the best, but after all it was Alaska and wilderness
The trip was a great way to see a beautiful slice of Alaska. However, the trip itinerary was not well explained prior to each day. There was confusion on the side trips that we had to follow-up on to make sure the reservation was made. On our trip last year through the National Parks, the tour guide rotated seats daily to make sure everybody got a view. Name tags were placed by your new seat each morning. It was also a great way to learn everybody's name throughout the trip. On the Alaska trip, this was not done and I thought it was more difficult to match names with faces.
Well thought out itinerary. Some early mornings but needed for distance travelled. Hotels were of a high standard. Driver and tour director professional and friendly.
The optional and included activities were excellent. The early starts weren't much fun but I guess they were necessary to complete the activities. The hotel in Valdez didn't have air conditioning.
Our guide was very knowledgable and had a good sense of humor. She kept us well informed at all times and was a pleasure to talk with along the way.
The list of excursions sent out prior didn’t match up with what actually we could do. One mentioned paying in Canadian $ and we weren’t able to do that.
It’s a nice overview of Alaska. Loved Denali, the Denali National Park guide bus ride into the back country, an optional excursion - small plane landing on a glacier, the dome train ride / dinner and Valdez and Seward / boat excursions. The Fairbanks part of the trip / hotel wasn’t great. Would have preferred to stay in a chain hotel like Hampton Inn over the Rivers Edge.
The tour director and bus driver were excellent. The tour followed the itinerary. The scenery was beautiful and the trip leaders were accommodating of requests. I found the tour geared toward inactive people and I'm glad these folks were taken care of. It was very sedentary and I am an active person so it wasn't a great match for me. I was a solo traveler and it was all couples on this trip- great trip for couples, friends, not a trip for solo travelers though.
The tour was nice and gave you a good overview of Alaska. But some of the days were very long and included some long days on the bus. It also included 2 6-hour boat tours within a few of each other. I would have preferred just one boat tour. The tour took you to Fairbanks but there isn't alot to see or do up there. Would have preferred visiting another area of Alaska. Some of the stops did not allow you to really visit the place - Alaskan Native Heritage Museum. We would have liked to had additional time to explore this museum.
Great tour director and bus driver. Very knowledgeable and accommodating
It was good. I think the optional dinner at Denali national Park should be included not kept as an option. The whole morning on the second day at Denali park was kept free not doing much for shopping or that Denali park museum, they should have included some hiking with guide. we wasted lot of time not doing much or getting optional things which were all sold out or too much like helicopter tour or zipline I am not that adventurous but definitely would love to do hiking with the guide.
great
Alaska—a land of untamed beauty, sprawling wilderness, and profound inspiration. As our tour unfolded, we witnessed the very heart of the Last Frontier, traversing not only its famed coastlines and soaring peaks. To call it “terrific” only begins to capture the cascade of experiences, emotions, and revelations that the journey inspired. Alaska’s scenery is a symphony of elemental forces. We marveled at glaciers—ice fields cascading down mountainsides, blue and ancient, their creaks and rumbles echoing across the valleys. We walked along the banks of the Nenana River, and at every turn during the tour, we saw wildlife. The inherent beauty of this state, combined with its rich history, made this a truly unique trip. We highly recommend this tour. Our Tour Director and bus driver made it a wonderful experience.
This was my second time taking a trip with Trafalgar. I doubt I will use your company again. It was a rocky start as we waited in the hotel lobby for over an hour with no one having any info for us on where to go to meet up with our tour director. When we finally found her, she told us that we were not on her list. She told another couple this also. She finally got that straightened out and was able to assure us that we were on the trip. On my first trip with Trafalgar, everyone had name tags. Ceramic ones, not just sticky labels. We didn't have any name tags on this trip, nor was any effort made to try to introduce the group to each other by . On my first trip with Trafalgar, our tour guide, would come down the aisle of the coach with a basket of wrapped goodies for us to have during our long rides. One day served some, I think it was reindeer meat, along with some pretzels that were dumped into an open bowl for people to take. Very disappointing and not very sanitary. We signed up for a number of optional excursions. One night when we returned from one, we called to ask her a question about the next day. We learned that she had changed the time that we would be getting on the coach the next morning. However, when we went to the place we had been meeting, we didn't see anyone else from our trip. It seems that she had also changed the location of where to meet the coach and she neglected to tell us. Unfortunately, I got sick at the end of the trip. We called to tell her that and that we would not be joining the group that day. She never called to find out how I was feeling and if there was anything she could do to help. To be so far away from home and not get any support is so disappointing. To me, this says a lot about a company and how it treats its customers. To be fair, she did send us some food from the farewell dinner after my daughter asked about it.. It was delivered to our room by someone else on our trip. It was cold and there were no utensils so that we could it eat. I had expected much more from Trafalgar and was sadly disappointed.
The tour director was knowledgeable and very nice and organized. However, Too much bus travel and hopping to/from hotels (5 hotel hops). Food selection and quality was poor. Often we stopped at fast food or supermarkets to get lunch. Not enough food was included and for the price that you pay for the trip, it was not nearly worth the value. A major downfall of this style (tour bus) tour is sickness. A viral infection ripped through our tour bus. In a matter of 4 days 90% of the tour was sick and there were no mitigation plans in place. Actually, i would say that they made it worse by passing around a single pamphlets for everyone to share and pass around, rotating where you sat in the bus and allowing people to grab their own food samples/snacks. This went on while this virus devastated everyone on the tour. Sorry, i won't be taking anymore bus tours.
The optional experiences were great! I took airplane ride to Denali, the zip line in Denali and the Valdez glacier helicopter ride. I witnessed 5/5 for wildlife plus all the aquatics.
Don’t change a thing. We loved the places and activities.
