The process from finding the tour we wanted to take to getting set up for the tour was an easy process. The other reviews we saw gave us the security of using their website to book our trip. The only item we missed which would have given a 5* was the trip did not include see the Alps up close or a train trip. Well maybe next time there may be one and we would definitely take that trip.

This itinerary covered the northern peninsula of Nfld from St. John's to Corner Brook. I enjoyed the mix of land and water adventures; especially visiting the lighthouses and usually enough time to explore the lighthouse climbing, viewing the land and seascape, and artifacts of lighthouse existence throughout initial construction to present day. The industries of the explorers, first nations and numerous cultures influences were highlighted numerous times with names, languages, growth and trading partners. I especially enjoyed Gander, which could have been 2 days as was the case with Corner Brook too with the history and the olympic venues needed more time to explore. The telecommunications with highlighted too from Signal Hill and Heart's Content. The Viking Settlement and Red Bay Whaling Station were excellent too and all accessible to my walking ability. Nice length, but I would have enjoyed the additional 3 - 4 days. I was travelling alone and was welcomed and enjoyed meeting others with the ZEST to discover about travelling through the province. We enjoyed numerous sightings of whales, puffins, but we're to late for the icebergs.

Newfoundland is beautiful. Our guide was excellent. We visited so many places. Unfortunately,, we rarely spent enough time to enjoy the places we visited. The one place I was really looking forward to visiting, L’Anse aux meadows, there was so little time to actually see the site or even buy souvenirs. I really felt cheated. Since the province is vast we spent many hours travelling on the bus. A bus that was particularly comfortable.
