Itinerary

If you’ve ever dreamed of stepping into the world of Harry Potter, the Magical Highlands and the Hogwarts Express tour is your chance. This full-day trip invites you to breathe in Scotland’s legendary landscapes, circle Loch Ness for a glimpse of its mythical resident, and explore the wild West Coast—a haven for seafood and scenic beaches. The highlight is a ride aboard the Jacobite Steam Train, the very same Hogwarts Express from the beloved films. Channel your inner wizard or witch as you cross the iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct, making this journey a must for fans and sightseers alike.

day 1Magical Highlands And The Hogwarts Express

Our day begins with Nessie hunting at world-famous Loch Ness, stopping for photos above the ruins of eerie Urquhart Castle. Your adventure continues south when we visit the Commando Memorial which overlooks Ben Nevis, the UKs highest mountain. All aboard! It’s time to jump on the Jacobite Steam train, aka the Hogwarts Express, and take one of the world’s most beautiful railway trips, departing from Fort William.
After taking in the stunning West Highland landscapes, we hop off the Jacobite Steam Train at the beautiful fishing port of Mallaig where you can try fresh seafood for lunch and explore the town.
Immerse yourself in more striking scenery before stopping in the charming Fort Augustus to see the Caledonian Canal and Loch Ness up close. To round off an amazing day, we visit Dores Beach on the banks of Loch Ness, arriving back in to Inverness in the evening for a well-earned rest.

Guillia put a great self-drive tour together for us and Susana looked after us as we travelled. (Even when we got lost) The car and accommodation was good and the guides patient and informative. Only issue we had was parking in small villages, garages, and cities. Apart from the parking we had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday, thank you.
