Itinerary
How high is Japan on your must-do-before-I-die bucket list? We’re about to put it at the number one spot. Our small group trip is your ticket to discovering a different side to Japan your fyp doesn’t see. A 12-day trip that takes you from Tokyo to Osaka on a journey of juxtapositions. You’ll climb up mountains, get lost in cities, eat your weight in ramen, then okonomiyaki, sing your lungs out at karaoke, and sit in silence at a peace park. Bonus: the group you travel with are people you wouldn’t have met anywhere else!
day 1Tokyo (Japan)
The next 12 days delving into Japanese culture looks like: discovering the modern, the ancient and all the weird, whacky and totally wonderful in between. First: say konnichiwa to your fellow explorers. Then: we’ll kick things off with a group dinner at a local restaurant. Nihon e yōkoso – welcome to Japan!

Everything was amazing, some activities we shuffled around the accommodate rain and being able to go to a festival. There was a little bit of a miscommunication with flight Center telling us we could pay for the optional extras on the trip (and did not need to book them in advance). Tsu was an amazing tour guide and fit in really well with all nine of us Aussies.
So helpful having a local guide to show you around!
A great way to dip your feet into each main city along the trip. Each having its own and different features. While the shrines do become slightly monotonous they all have a different feel and scenery. Of the whole trip the golden temple was probably the standout.
We had such a great time over Christmas and New Years. Our tour guide Yuki was awesome - he kept up with our Aussie humour and was so knowledgeable.
Great trip - the important places are covered at every major city and you also have enough of free time to do your own. All the hotels were great (the one in Takayama was a stand-out though). However, I would suggest you skip the optionals offered and opt for the ones offered in Klook as they are way cheaper. As my trip took place in late December, the weather was pretty cold with occasional rain so it's best that you avoid the winter period for maximum enjoyment. This trip also takes you to try the various local cuisine so that is a real plus.
