The difficulty was, that most people in the group were not in such a good physical shape as demanded in the tour description online. Because of that, a lot of activities were cancelled and cut short. For those of us, who were really waiting for the activities (like the hikes & bike tour), this was an annoyance, I'm sorry to say. Otherwise the tour was amazing, the accommodations and food were absolutelt amazing, so were the destinations!!
Overall it was an enjoyable trip however it was not advertised as a hiking trip. The itinerary was too generic and did not represent the weather we faced or the hikes we did.
If you are looking for a unique cultural and active tour of both big city and rural Japan, this is the tour for you. Japan is a unique country in so many ways and one travellers should try. G Adventures tours will always serve you well in every way. Thanks to Yoko who took us on a non stop adventure we won’t soon forget.
The tour combined the bustle of Tokyo, the culture of Kyoto and the charm of the Northern Akita and coastal region. The food and accommodations were excellent and being able to travel on Bullet Trains, local trains and subways added to the local experience. Yoko was an excellent CEO, she was knowledgeable, helpful and kept the group organized. Overall it was an excellent tour of Japan!
I would say our experience was fantastic. Japan is so different from anywhere our family had previously traveled that we really appreciated our CEO's expert guidance, while at the same time allowing us flexibility to follow our own script and explore or adjust as needs may be. Everything from booking the trip to Yoko ensuring we made it safely onto the proper bus to the airport went as smoothly and enjoyably as I could ever have expected.
