Iquitos Pick-Up and Transfer to the Amazon (L/D)
Please arrive to Iquitos before 9:00 am today. Upon arrival to Iquitos you will be picked up at the airport or a hotel and transferred to the office. Make last minute arrangements and then head off to the port for a 3-hour speed boat ride on the Amazon River. Upon arrival to the jungle lodge, you will have time to get settled in and then enjoy a delicious traditional buffet lunch. Enjoy a fun afternoon boat trip to Lake Sapote where you can see heaps of different bird species such as parrots, jacanas, kingfishers, herons, panguanas, partridges, pigeons, cormorants and horned screamers. Continue to Moena lagoon to see monkeys, squirrels and sloths, then watch the sunset over the forest before heading back to the lodge for dinner. Take an evening boat safari to see nocturnal animals such as caimans and birds.
NOTE: Once you arrive in Iquitos, our driver will pick you up from your hotel or the airport, and take you to our office. After check-in and a brief explanation of the boat ride to the lodge, we will sail in one of our boats. Our boats leave Iquitos every day at 9:30 AM, arriving at the lodge at 12:30 PM.
