day 1Dublin to Galway

Dublin - Galway. Welcome to Ireland! Leaving Dublin behind, we travel west through the picturesque Irish farmlands and peat bogs, passing through the counties of Kildare and Offaly. Our first destination is the Kilbeggan Distillery, where we’ll have the chance to relax with a glass of their famous whiskey and enjoy the atmosphere of this historic distillery.
After a couple of drams, we make our way to the mighty River Shannon, where the ancient ruins of Clonmacnoise Abbey stand proudly, surrounded by stone crosses, old churches, and distinctive round towers. This sacred site offers a captivating insight into Ireland’s spiritual past.
We then stop for lunch at a traditional pub in one of the area’s villages, before heading on to Galway City, where you’ll spend the night. With its lively ambiance, fantastic restaurants, bars, and traditional live music, Galway offers the perfect blend of Irish culture for your first evening in the city.
Please note: Check-in closes at 08:45 on day 1 (tour departs at 09:00) - Dublin Nassau Street Pick Up, Opposite the Kilkenny Shop, Nassau St, Dublin. In Ireland, alcohol cannot be served before midday on Sundays, so if your tour departs then, the distillery will be unable to serve alcohol.
