A good balance of incluses and optional expériences that capture the highlights of Scandinavia, it’s history and culture.
Comprehensive, interesting series of locations visited. Moderate amount of daily walking required. Tight complete schedule with limited time for relaxation (but optional participation allows for freedom of choice). Enjoyed the International list of participants. Various modes of daily travel (bus, train rides, boat trips, & “old town” walking, subways, aerial trams, observation points) a definite plus.
Well-planned and covered places of interest, although some optional experiences were changed at certain locations.
Specifically curated and very thoughtful of excursion times for best experience!
Time management was great. Everything we wanted to see, we did. Hotels were very good too.
The optional tours were not listed before
Itinerary was good, the coach was comfortable, and the hotels were very good.
There is a lot to see and experience. Not much down time.
very extensive, but could be exhausting since several hotels we only stayed one night, many early morning depature,
I loved all the locations we visited and sites we saw. I just wish we had a little more time in the cities we stopped in on the way to other places. Gothenburg in particular looked like such a nice place to explore, but we didn’t have any time after we found a place to eat lunch. I also would’ve liked a little more variety to the excursions. Reading the blurbs before the trip it was hard to really grasp what they were. During this trip we went to two open air museums… and a third one of which we really didn’t get to go in and walk around. We sort of walked past it. The time crunch on some of the excursions was a little hard, but overall, my experience was amazing! As for the hotels…the lack of connectivity for the tv to get some streaming services was the real reason I didn’t give this a 5 star rating.
Excellent tour.
It would be nice if hotels will have not only shower gel but body lotion and shampoo as well. Even better thing for the hotels to have an AC in a room.
Some hotels very outdated. But generally not bad. What was very good-short travel time between cities. Included diners were much better that extra dinners that I purchased. A lot of extra paid excursions-I mean a lot. More that any trip before. It make sense to visit Scandinavia once-but definitely not a first time trip. Tour guide and bus driver were very good
Norway and Stockholm were tour highlights. Norway's natural beauty and the picturesque views of Stockholm were memorable.
The itinerary was so well rounded, set at a comfortable pace, and offered something for everyone. If you love history, architecture, a balanced way of living, and the most picturesque views that will reach your soul- the Scandinavian Highlights should be on your bucket list. Copenhagen is a charming city, so walkable, and yet has superior public transportation. Definitely try the smorrebrod and a cardamom bun while you're there! Norway is an incredible country, the beauty of the mountains and fjords is incomparable to anywhere else. I must have seen over 200 waterfalls, and the cleanest most crystal clear water you're ever going to see. Take the Flam railway tour, and the boat ride in the Songenfjord- stunning! Sweden is a different kind of beauty for me, much like Wisconsin 50 years ago, with farm fields and woods between the towns. Fika is a delightful practice. Stockholm with all its archipelago islands is amazing, I took a 2 1/2 hour boat ride around all of them just so I could take it all in. The Vasa Museum should not be missed! Too many positives to list with this trip!
Hotels are away from the city centre so don't think you can tour the cities in the evening. There is a lot of walking involved so you must be reasonably fit. There isn't any opportunity to just chill out at the hotel if you don't fancy the optional trip (except one morning). You are dropped off in the town/city and then picked up again when the optional trip finishes. All the hotels were OK. I particularly liked the 'vintage' hotel by the fjord. Coach excellent.
The itinerary was very good and the trip was enjoyable. I gave 9 instead of 10 because the baggage loading procedures had not been established resulting my baggage being lost causing me much inconvenience and worries.
Poorly designed itinerary. As mentioned, orientation/introductory tours in Oslo and Stockholm were scheduled on the second day of stay. They should have been scheduled during the ‘fee time’ between the arrival and hotel check-in. Hotel locations were inconvenient, not close to public transit.
Great trip and a great value to see some highlights of Scandinavia. (Denmark, Norway, Sweden) Our guide was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and had a wonderful personality. Our driver was exceptional, navigating that big coach through narrow streets.

Well paced and organized. Will continue to look for Costsaver Tours for future travel.
All very good. Our last room at the Comfort hotel in Stockholm was quite small.
The itenarary was good, covered quite a few attractions, coach was good, clean and comfy with wi-fi and air-con. Some of the hotels were good but most of them didn't have a phone or fridge in the room and one was extremely small and compact, I had a single room to myself and the bed was single and narrow, like a hospital bed, I ususally have a double or twin beds and have to pay more for a single room! This may have been Kaarlstad.
There were too many ‘Add Ons’. If you paid extra for every option it was not a good deal. The solo supplement of £900 was far too much and unnecessary given the hotels were cheap to begin with.
A very full itinerary with early starts and long days but excellent service and value for money. Lots of excellent information and great sights to see.
Costsaver's Highlights of Scandinavia was really all that! We saw wonderful art and architecture in cities and the charm of small villages and everything in between. Our tour guide and local specialists gave us wonderful stories of the history of the places we visited as well as the facts about living in those places today. The pace was just right for us and I would recommend all of the additional experiences that could be purchased as they always add so much to the tour. Costsaver's tours are a great value for your money and, at least for my group of four, we will be looking to do a Costsaver's trip again!
The itinerary was very comprehensive and packed a lot in. The outing choices were all optional which was good. However some of the descriptions were not detailed enough to appreciate what was on offer.
