Very good and covers lots of detail Some long coach days but good stops planned etc Accommodation was hit and miss and the Vienna Max Brown hotel was just terrible
I love Eastern Europe for it’s fairy tale landscape specially Cesky Krumlov Picturesque Old town, I love Krakow , historic heart of Krakow is the Old town, The Danube cruise , a relaxing way to experience Europe’s culture and history And my most memorable birthday celebration in a mansion in Vienna Austria’s most famous restaurant where we were transported into another world once inside! I celebrated my birthday in two countries, morning at Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic and Vienna , Austria in the afternoon. Berlin, Dresden Prague are all time favorites, too I had a great time, indeed!
Excellent tour. Saw everything we wanted to see and more. The guide was great, the coach comfortable, and the accommodations were centrally located and top notch for the most part. Enjoyed the optional excursions except felt a bit rushed at times trying to fit it all in. All in all, it was a trip to remember!
Very relaxed and not too busy. Great highlights with adequate free time.
Wish we had a little more time in Vienna and also the market there looked very interesting.Wish a little time there was included. Also couple of days in Croatia would have been great.
It was great trip. Since the area this trip covered have very rich deep culture, histories, etc. it was a lot to see, in some way, we were overwhelmed because of it. but nonetheless, it was great!
Itinerary is excellent, fast paced but comprehensive. An extra night in Cesky Krumlov to unwind would have been nice since it is such a beautiful spot. With the exception of Prague, hotels were very good and centrally located so you can walk easily to shops and restaurants. The welcome dinner in Budapest was wonderful, food and venue, as well as the hotel. Above all, our tour director, was the icing on the cake.
Wonderful architecture and amazing history. Great mix of organised events and free time to explore independently.
It includes art, culture, and lots of history. I especially enjoyed the piano concert at the Chopin school in Krakow, Poland, and the orchestra concert and Viennese waltz class in Vienna.
The itinerary is varied providing opportunities to learn of the past and to enjoy fun-filled cultural experiemces. The itinery is both demanding covering .many miles and learning of the painful experiences of the past and relaxing with road trips.
Good hotels, sights seeing, friendly team, buss was excellent, restaurants chosen for dining , excellent; free time, well deserved, thank you,; Taking care of our laguage, thank you Some hotels didn’t provide basic, egz slippers no enough coffee, milk, sugar in hotels room. Still loved the Eastern Europe tour, enjoyed every minutes of if.
Well managed. Activities were interesting and informative. .
our tour guide was fantastic made a very enjoyable holiday.
Exciting itinerary and landmarks. Travel Director and Local Guides are well-equipped with information and history about the places we visited. Gave tips on where to shops and restaurants that offer a variety of cuisines.
Very interesting history in the area. Easy travel by coach. Very knowledgeable guides. Bus driver and guide were superb and caring. Lots of extra excursions, if not taken could make the tour very relaxing.
Tour was fabulous. So much to see & experience. Tour director & driver were wonderful & very helpful The coach had plenty of leg room & was clean & had large windows to view through So many exciting places to see & experience that it is hard to choose one as the best Now planning another Insight tour for next year
You cover a lot of miles in just 13 days. Not a lot of time is spent in each city, but you are able to see the highlights and determine if it is a place you would like to go back to. The additional excursions that are available offer some great opportunities to see additional things and experience the local culture.
This is our second tour with Insight, our first on was fantastic. Budapest, Poland (except for the Auschwitz tour) was amazing. The 4 rating is for the following reasons Auschwitz tour had 1 guide for 37 people (she said this was the largest group she had ever had), anyone half way to the back for the line were 2-3 rooms behind what the guide was speaking about, meaning what the guide was speaking about made no sense to what we were looking at. Very disappointing, we had taken my mother on this tour because her mother was in a concentration camp and father POW, most other groups had around 15 people and the group behind us were getting frustrated at the back half of our group for taking too long Berlin was not pleasant having a 3 tours at 9am, 11am and 2:45pm, had no time to explore the town we arrived at the night before and left the next morning Prague was also disappointing, the walk from castle to old town far to long starting at 9am and arriving into the old town at 11:45am only leaving 1 hour and 15 minutes to rest have lunch before the optional tour at 1pm. After ordering and eating lunch we only had less the 30 minutes to explore the old town which looked amazing Veinna we arrived at 1pm, our luggage was left in the bus for the optional tour which we were not doing. Our guide said we could check in at 3pm, we wondered around town and had lunch. When we got back to the hotel after 3pm the desk said Insight guests are not due to check in until 4pm and our rooms were not ready. We were not told our luggage would stay on the bus until we got there, we were planning to use this afternoon off to get washing done and organise our self as this was our second last day on this tour before going on a cruise Although we had the most amazing well organised experience with in 2023 on the European Discovery tour, this tour was not the pleasant experience i was expecting. I had recommended Insight and traveled with my mother and father and sister and brother in law on this tour which they had the same thoughts, although the schedule on our 2023 tour was as busy the included and optional tours seemed to be spaced out where we had time to explore the towns we were staying in and not just race from tour to tour to dinner Thank you
The tour started off in a great Hotel, but the standard went down after that. The Mercure in Krakow, was the worst Hotel I've ever stayed in. The 2 Hiltons weren't much better. The coach had fewer seats for leg-room, but the seats were not comfortable enough. Who thought it was a good idea to alternate from a non-Euro zone country to a Euro Zone country every 2 days? Also a trip to Auschwitz just 2 days before visiting Germany tainted how we felt about the German people we met there.
Enjoyed visiting the cities in this area. Be aware that the coach travel between cities is long, however, suitable comfort and lunch stops are given.
The itinerary was excellent. It's truly a "highlights" tour. The main guide () was knowledgeable as were all of the local guides. The optional activities (we did them all) were also excellent. We have no regrets about this tour, nothing could be added or deleted to make it better as far as I can determine. The pace was very good, not too quick, not too slow. This particular itinerary typically had us in a hotel for 2 nights, which we really liked. That contributed to the pace not feeling feeling like it was too fast. We had folks in our group well into their 70's and none complained about a fast pace. Keep up the great work Insight!
very good experience
Very hectic , could have been little more leisurely and relaxing
Great cities. over night was a special and unexpected treat. Great castle tour. Budapest music school tour was good. So special that they opened just for Insight. Early Schonbrunn tour was worth the early wake up. was great about letting us have later morning departures when possible.
The schedule was packed. Other than traveling via coach, there was not a lot of "down" time. There was a significant amount of walking and many meals included. We saw a lot & learned a lot! It was a great way to learn about our heritage.
Itinerary fantastic and tour guide was great yet the food at extra experiences was nothing short of pulp and certainly not worth the money.
It's well organised. Not hectic. Enough time to rest and enjoy.
The itinerary was excellent and more suitable to 65+ aged group. Besides the long travelling hours between contries, the journey was well managed and relaxed. The Travel Director was great, she made the trip very special!
Very comprehensive tour of Eastern Europe visiting Budapest, Krakow, Warsaw, Berlin, Prague, Cesky Krumlov and Vienna
Very rich visits to key cities of Eastern Europe. It was a marathon of a tour with qualified guest guides and all of us were very well treated.
Easter Europe for 13 days was perfect timing visited beautiful places and accommodations were in very good locations.
Lots of walking on steep roads, lots of cobblestones and stairs. Most attractions are only available by this means. Beautiful old historical buildings, castles, cathedrals, palaces, museums and libraries. Scenic country side with green meadows, forests and quaint villages.
That it is a tour of Old Europe with awareness of the history of WW 2 and the impact past and present of Communism.
Too much for the time given! Too fast paced. No place to buy things we might use. Very little time just to enjoy our surroundings. Very Little time just to get to know each other. Even on the bus. This was my third Insight trip and by far the most rushed. I did enjoy my holiday and seeing so many beautiful places, the optional trips were good, but once again, rushed, and I had few souvenirs I was willing to buy. I was surprised a the truck stops, mostly McDonald's, without any local flair. Next time I'll make sure there is enough time to enjoy what we see.
Exceptionally well organized, outings are well thought out and dining places are incomparable.
Wonderful cities to visit but the driving distances between them were great and felt rushed. Didn’t get to spend much time in the cities after the long driving times. Would Not recommend this particular tour because of that. Loved our tour guide!
This tour covers a LOT of Europe and is very interesting. Every country we stayed in or passed through was fascinating. Our tour director, was excellent and made the trip even better. Insight provides a winning itinerary on this trip.
Felt like I was part of the history. The tour director answered every question. Always had a local person to fill in the details.
Too many optional excursions but only one a day that included in the tour.
We had an amazing time. The itinerary was well planned giving us great opportunity to make the most of what was to see and do at each stop.
The key issue is the itinerary posted on your website is skimpy. It lacks details for anyone to know the places to be visited. Moreover, where there are optional excursions on certain days, at least state the time ranges of these optional tours so one will know what time is the standard tour and what time range for the optional tour. As your Singapore office is not manned by people who know the specifics, information given is either delayed or not accurate. Give the detailed plans for everyone to read is best. On the last day, we were brought to a nice concert. Why not put it in the itinerary. On this tour, I find that the places visited are quite ok if one pays for the optional tours. For eg, the salt mine is usually included in any outbound tour from Singapore but for Insight Vacation, it is optional. Fortunately, there were enough people who went, if not, one will not be able to visit this important site. For important sites, they should be standard in tour and not made optional. Increase price of the tour is fine. The other matter is the hotel. On your itinerary, the hotels listed are quite alright except for Prague as Hermitage is not a good hotel. However, Insight changed Hilton at Vienna to Intercontinental. Intercontinental Vienna is worse than Hilton in Vienna. Intercontinental is jaded and old. Insight Vacation, being an upmarket tour agency, should keep to its stated hotels. Any guest who book your tour will consider the hotels before booking. On food, all the given dinners were not good except for the first night in Budapest. The food prepared by the restaurants are not quality meats. The cooking were not up to standard. To make matters worse, they were all way too salty for anyone who cares about health to eat. On breakfasts, they were fine.
A great introduction to the historical cities of Eastern Europe.
The cities we went to were outstanding. The tour guide was not great and the dinners provided by Insight were an abomination. The tour guide spent the entire two weeks blabbering on the bus. When we needed to be on the bus at say 7AM and would have liked some peace and quiet, the guide spoke incessantly about absolutely nothing. He was like a talking machine that could not be turned off. He loved fart jokes which he told frequently. The dinners provided by Insight were absolutely awful. It's like someone went around looking for the worst food. There was not a single decent meal. The last night in Vienna had to have been the worst. The guide told us to dress up for this "celebration". We were then led to a basement with florescent lighting and offered a horrific cold pork chop or a vegetarian lump of spinach. Awful is a kind word for this slop. I would not take another Insight tour until and unless I had assurance that the guides were carefully trained, and the guests are served proper food.
