Guiyang & Kaili Cultural Experience, City Break, Private Tour

Arrive at Guiyang Airport or Railway station. Upon arrival to the capital of Guizhou Province, a representative will be waiting to greet you at the airport/railway station and accompany you directly for your first excursion to Old Han Village, home to the descendants of troops from Nanjing, where the people still dress in traditional Han costume. After 90-minute-drive, we´ll take walk around the village, and we´ll explore the type of local art, called “Ground Opera”, which literally means “theatre on the ground”. Watch a private opera show played by amateur villagers wearing hand-made masks, and afterwards learn how the opera masks are made (not included, payable on the spot). At around 16:00 we´ll drive to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the day at your leisure in the city. Take the opportunity to rest and recover after the flight or head out into the city for your first glimpse of life in one of China’s sprawling city and visit the night market.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will pick you up at about 8:30 at hotel´s lobby to drive to Kaili. After a 3-hours-long ride, with a lunch break in Taijiang at the local restaurant, we’ll drive to Fanpai for one-hour-hike through green paddy fields to Fangzhao village, where nestled an enchanting maze of old wooden houses and we´ll see a traditional and unspoiled authentic farming system. Afterwards, we´ll continue to Kaili, the capital of Miao & Dong Minority Autonomous Region, for overnight. Check-in to your hotel in the late afternoon and the rest of the day at leisure to further explore the surroundings of this centre of Miao minority culture at leisure.

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and get ready for your following adventure, FAST (Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope). We´ll pick you up at 8:30 from the hotel and after 3-hours-drive we´ll visit FAST, the largest astronomical telescope in the world that took 22 years to be finished and we´ll observe the black holes, using the unique technology. After this 2-hour tour we´ll have lunch at the local restaurant and then we´ll head to visit the Astronomical Experience Hall and Astronomical Museum. Approx. at 14:30 we´ll be driving back to your hotel in Guiyang, where you’ll be dropped off at around 17:00, just in time for dinner (not included) and to further explore the surroundings at leisure.

After breakfast at the hotel, prepare to check out of your room at the scheduled time and transfer to the airport or railway station for your onward or return flight/train.
