There should have been more included tours, not optional. The barn dinner is very overrated.
The itinerary should include more of the highlights of each city. For example, instead of just a bus tour with important sites pointed out (which is a good start) , a walking tour should be included, not optional. Also, it should be noted somewhere which optional experiences involve a lot of walking , stairs, etc. for those who have mobility challenges. The optional experiences offered were terrific and really added to the trip.
three beautiful cities that each step was a moment in history, Some parts of tour challenged less mobile participants
Good for historians
I did love this trip but… In Budapest, I felt the tours should include an actual visit to the inside of the Parliament Building & the Jewish Synagogues instead of just walking or driving by them. My friend & I arrived two days early so we wouldn’t miss seeing them. In Austria, I would have loved more time at the Palace. In Prague, the optional tour of the city was horrible. Our group wasted time walking around the city with a terrible guide who knew nothing & focused more on watches in a store window than showing us the Jewish Quarter & sharing history of the city with us. Dresden, Germany was a beautiful place but, there isn’t enough time there. That should have been an overnight visit. Too far to drive to only stay 2-3 hours. There is too much to see. Plus, we had to travel a different route due to construction so, that made us rush to our last dinner with our tour group. The food at each location was delicious and the people of each place we visited were very nice. The folklore dinner show was wonderful. The hotel rooms were small but, adequate & they were perfectly located in each city.
Loved the tours but also the flexibility if you didn’t want to do some tours. Loved the 2 days in between with free time It was a more relaxed experience
Nice to stay in one place for a few days. One thing there was alot of walking and on cobblestones which made it hard to walk. I had trouble with this. I would let people that have trouble walking about this. Takes the term easy pace out of it.
Easy pace Budapest. Vienna and Prague can be as full or as relaxed as you choose. Everyday has an excellent itinerary and if you want more the options are fantastic. The options included fantastic tours , a cooking lesson, wonderful entertainment and outstanding food. was a very thoughtful tour leader who often went above and beyond to make sure everyone was happy.
Well organized, a lot of history explained some extra excursions weren’t what was expected. Food was very appealing.
We recently returned from a Europe tour organized by Insight Vacations, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. The entire trip was thoughtfully planned, allowing us to travel at a relaxed and enjoyable pace. There was a great balance between organized activities and optional experiences, which gave us the flexibility to personalize our trip. We also had ample free time to explore each destination on our own, which added to the overall richness of the journey. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and provided just the right amount of information at each site—helping us make informed decisions about optional excursions and how best to spend our free time. The included lunches and dinners were well-chosen and delicious, giving us a real taste of local flavors. And the transportation throughout the tour was exceptionally comfortable, making even longer drives a pleasure. All in all, it was a memorable and well-executed tour—I’d definitely travel with Insight Vacations again!
Vienna to Prague was an exhausting trip. Very long and the stop in the medieval village was just too much. Everyone on the tour was exhausted.
Excellent trip, other than little issue with optional tour sigh up paperwork, too many pieces of paper handed around. The tour director, Petra was very good, very knowledgeable and well organized. The local experts were very engaging and insightful. I would suggest that the Budapest Cruise be included in the tour rather than an optional experience. The tour of Szentendre was enjoyable and was pleasantly surprising. The county dinner in a mansion was alright, but may consider other options like visit to Belvedere Palace. A enjoyable and informative trip. Maybe a too much Goulash.
Perfect balance of group time and free time. , our guide, was friendly, professional and always available for any need. Lovely hotels in great locations. And ,oh, those breakfasts. Liked the rotating seats on the bus also. All in all, a fabulous time.
Lots of good information about cities/countries we visited. However, it wasn’t always 3 days in each city as advertised. For example, the first day we met the group at 6pm & went to dinner. That was considered Day 1; it wasn’t a whole day! When we were in Prague, one of the 3 days was an optional tour to Dresden in Germany. Wouldn’t it be better, to have extra time to see more places in Prague. At times, easy pace didn’t feel like that at all. A bit rushed! Some of the activities should have been part of the itinerary we already paid for such as the Jewish quarter tour. Always felt we were charged high prices for optional activities. Choice of restaurants not always good. Quality of food could have been better in some places.
The tour was not tiring and very well spread out. Our tour director was fantastic. She took good care of all of us. The hotels were comfortable. The optional tours offered to us were great. As for the food, it was decent. However, I hope some of the city tours can be improved or replaced as they can be quite boring and they felt just like ordinary bus rides.
Good mix of included itinerary and optional excursions
The itinerary was great and very informative. The absolute best part of the trip was Tour Director incredible organizational skills and her presentation. We have been on many guided tours, however this organized by , was by far the best.
My wife and I both liked the itinerary and the optional excursions. The relaxed trip was welcome and the amount of things to do and see felt just right. Our guide and driver were the best. We were lucky to have a good group too. The locals were welcoming and friendly and the food was great. Prague was our favorite city of the bunch and look forward to returning someday.
