2 days in Zagreb with everything closed is useless. The home dinner was fantastic but 2hrs is not enough. The "included" dinners were plain and usually tastless and the "optional" dinners were not much better and the wait staff were rude or lazy but we got to pay extra for them. One hotel was so run down the lift got stuck and all the flaking paint most probably had lead in it. The tour guide was great and personable. Some of the "stops" had nothing to do and no where to go or the hotel was so far removed from anything that those not attending the optional tours had nothing to do!
The pacing and variety are just right. We loved every minute. fid and amazing job and we learned so much. Every location was beautiful in its own unique way.
Space the old towns and emphasize differences among them. A couple of the hotels are not of the same class as the others. Itinerary included optional experiences that should have been part of the included excursions. Without the optional excursions, the itinerary would be relatively bare.
