Reviews of our Austria Tours for Fall
Feedback from guests who toured Austria during Fall.
There were too many favorites to mention. We had spectacular weather, an incredible & knowledgeable & personable tour guide -BEN. One highlight was going up to Mt Pilatus, another was the horse & buggy ride, seeing the Chapel Bridge, Mirabelli Gardens & the Incredible Tyrolean folklore show in Innsbruck. And I could go on…….
Great tour; highly recommend. The “hub” approach is great - love not having to pack up and travel to a new location every day. Both Bern and Innsbruck are great cities and the daily itineraries were well planned.
Our tour manager Carmen Manzanares kept us updated on all details prior, during and follow up afterwards to make sure we had the best time on our tour. The destinations, experiences, local guides were fabulous. The hotels were excellent very clean, comfortable beds and pillows, all shower amenities and the delicious breakfasts. Enjoyed our tour manager to join us on our extended excursion to Vienna. It was extremely helpful to get us on the train, show us the city and do and see things we would have missed if she wasn’t there with us. Extra bonus as we saw the Lipizzan stallions perform, in red!
I can't pick just one. Sound of Music tour (I am a theatre person and got to sing Doh Re Me on the actual steps that they did in the movie) Climbing to Birds Nest (The vies from the top wee amazing) Black Forrest coo-coo clock making demonstration (so interesting how they make them and yes, I bought one, as did almost everyone else) River Cruise down the Danube (Very nice and relaxing) Mount Palatus (the train going up and the Gondola coming down and the view from the top where you can see 2 other countries and the Matterhorn) Of course, you can't forget Lauderach chocolate (best in the world!) All in all, it was an amazing trip.
The tour was excellent- I enjoyed touring the castles in Austria, seeing the how cuckoo clocks were made in Germany and going to Mount Pilatus in Switzerland. Everything was top notch including the food and accommodations. Our tour guide Pilar was very helpful and informative- couldn’t recommend her enough.
This was our first ever multi-day bicycle trip. We loved it. The Danube cycle path offered a variety of scenery…the beautiful river, forests, rural and agricultural areas, small towns, cities, ancient and modern places. The hotels that were arranged for us were lovely and the luggage transport worked flawlessly. We loved the bountiful Austrian style breakfasts. Our only complaint was that one bike was difficult to pedal for the first two days, until we had it repaired at a bike shop. The chain was rubbing on the chain guard and the front wheel was overtightened. Later, as we were approaching Vienna, the handlebars on that bike suddenly became loose and swiveled 30 degrees, which could have caused a serious accident. So we recommend that the mechanics who provide the bikes do a much more thorough job of inspecting and testing each one, as if their spouse was going to ride it for 210 miles.
