Short on time but big on adventure? The "Bali Cross Country: 2 Days" trip is crafted for cyclists with solid skills and a thirst for challenge. Covering 115 km—mostly off-road—this guided tour races through UNESCO-listed rice terraces in Jatiluwih, the remote wilds of Tabanan, and the dramatic crater of Mount Batur, culminating in a thrilling downhill ride to Ubud. With a mix of single tracks, jeep paths, and rugged terrain, this trip is ideal for experienced and fit riders looking for a condensed yet action-packed mountain biking experience. Its USP: a whirlwind immersion into Bali’s most stunning and varied landscapes, perfect for those who want it all in just two days.
day 1 - Discover the Tabanan province (45 km)
We will pick you up from your accommodation in Bali if it falls within our list of pickup locations (please scroll down to the 'Good To Know' section for more details) early in the morning and transfer you to the region of Bedugul, located 1,400 m above sea level. The views from here over Lake Beratan, one of Bali's most famous lakes, are simply breathtaking.
Your first stop before the ride is the iconic temple on Lake Beratan. Pray for a safe journey and head for the starting point of the trip. Let the adventure begin! Traverse an amazing maze of trails down towards the coast.
Every aspect of mountain biking is covered on this 45 km journey on some of Bali's best single tracks. The ride comes to an end right next to your accommodation, a beautiful, countryside resort in the middle of paddy fields.
day 2 - Morning ride around Mt Batur crater, downhill to Ubud (65 km) & departure
An early morning transfer will take us to Mount Batur, our playground for the morning. Ride around the volcano's crater on a wide mixture of terrain while enjoying amazing views of the volcanic mountain as well as Lake Batur and Mount Abang. You may expect some of Bali's best single-track riding today as well!
Pedal through the lava stream created by the latest eruption of Mount Batur in 2000. Transfer back up to the volcano's rim after lunch and cycle mostly downhill for 35 km on a wide mix of terrain all the way down to Ubud, where this adventure comes to an end.
We can either transfer you back to your accommodation in the south of Bali or you can spend the night in Ubud (accommodation on Day 2 not included).
