day 1 - Johannesburg to Kruger
We will pick you up either at your accommodation or airport in Johannesburg. A private vehicle will transfer you to Kruger National Park, a four-hour drive from Johannesburg. Your safari adventure begins soon after you enter the park.
Make your way to your camp (comfortable Kruger bungalow) for the night, within the reserve, viewing wildlife as you go. After you have checked in, head back out for a sunset safari. As the day begins to cool, predators emerge, increasing your chance of spotting them.
Return to your camp as the sun sets and enjoy a hearty meal under the African stars. A grand start to the day.
day 2 - Full Day Safari
Start early today, as the 'early bird catches the worm'—or lion in our case. The cool, crisp condition of the morning is the perfect time to see the nocturnal predators still on the prowl.
After a couple of hours of morning game drive, stop for a well-earned cup of coffee/tea and breakfast at a beautiful lookout spot.
Carry on with your game drive, viewing the general game as the day warms and they begin to move toward the watering holes. Brunch will be served at a picnic spot, where you can see animals drinking at the river.
Next, return to camp for a little downtime. A great afternoon snack will be served at the camp before you embark on a sunset drive on an open top safari vehicle. We will be accompanied by the park rangers.
After ticking off some more great nighttime creatures, return to camp to enjoy authentic South African meal.
day 3 - Full Day Safari & Camp Change
Once again, it's an an early start to the day. Head out for a game drive at sunrise to scope out the wildlife of Kruger National Park. Return to the camp after couple of hours for breakfast and check out.
We then continue our game drive, spotting wildlife along the way, as we move to another section of the park. By now your animal list will have grown substantially. Your guide will use his vast knowledge to hunt down those that are missing. Different areas, have different habitats and they know exactly what animals are more likely be found in certain terrain.
As you can now understand that this is your private trip, so the flow and makeup of the itinerary will go according to your wants and needs. Your guide will give you different options and you get to choose what you want. So for example, at this point you can choose to go check in at your new camp, or choose to enjoy being out in the reserve, keep driving and looking for animals. Perhaps, you want to stay put near a watering hole to see the animals come and quench their thirst.
This evening after dinner, head out on a night drive, which will be a very different experience. The aim is to spot nocturnal wildlife such as small cats, owls and hyena.
day 4 - Last Full Day
As mentioned, the flow of the trip is really up to you now, with the suggestions from your guide. The Kruger National Park is massive area, with an impressive collection of birds and animals. Since you have experienced game drive, perhaps you may wish to take a bush walk on your last day in the park.
Spend the day exploring the park and spotting various bird and animal species. Having given yourself a good amount of time in the wild will have increased your chance of seeing all of the Big five game, as well as other animals, such as cheetahs and wild dogs.
Enjoy your last African sunset, with memories of an incredible time spent out in the bush.
day 5 - Kruger to Johannesburg
Today, you head back to Johannesburg, as your safari trip comes to an end. But first, take an early drive with the park rangers. Se out before dawn and before the gates open to the regular tourist. This means, with no traffic moving, you are likely to catch animals such as lions and leopards still out and about from the night before.
Return to camp for breakfast and check out. The drive to the exit gates, often produces that last goodbye wildlife sightings.
