Visit the Jozani forest and explore this natural part of Zanzibar, home to several habitats including swamp forest, evergreen thickets, mangroves, as well as a variety of wildlife, including sykes and red colobus monkeys, bush pigs, Ader’s duiker and suni antelopes, elephant shrews, chameleons and lots of birdlife.
The Jozani forest is best known for its kirks red colobus monkeys (kima punju in swahili), which are endemic to Zanzibar. About 10 years ago, the monkeys were considered to be in danger of extinction, but this trend has since reversed due to the conservation project. There are about 6000 red colobus monkeys now residing in Jozani Forest.
After visiting the monkeys, walk across to the Pete-Jozani mangrove boardwalk, which entwines through coral thicket vegetation, mangrove forests and across a creek. The mangrove forest is extremely crucial to Zanzibar’s ecosystems, providing a habitat for many lizards, snakes and birdlife as well as preventing the coastal erosion.
Jozani Forest is situated 38km southeast of Stone Town. In 1995, the Jozani Chwaka Bay Conservation Project was set up to protect the largest remaining patch of indigenous ground-water forest that used to cover Zanzibar. Local communities are involved in the project and some of your entrance fee contributes to development projects and to compensate local farmers whose crops are often damaged by the red colobus monkeys.
This three-day safari is designed for those with small number of days in Arusha but who still want to see the wildlife and experience the local culture.

The Rongai route ascends Kilimanjaro from the north-eastern side of the mountain, along the border between Tanzania and Kenya. This route retains a sense of unspoiled wilderness and offers a different perspective on Kilimanjaro by approaching it from the north.
The topography of the route does not allow for the application of the climb high and sleep low principle and hikers generally suffer more from altitude sickness on the Rongai route compared to other routes (an additional acclimatization day is highly recommended on this route).
The Rongai route uses the summiting path from Kibo hut to Gilman’s point and descend via the Marangu route.
Kilimanjaro Trek through Machame Route is a 9-day trekking tour that offers amazing views, landscapes and experience. Also known as “the Whiskey Route”, Machame is considered one of the best routes for acclimatization as it follows the mountaineering code of hiking high and sleeping low.
The starting point of the route, Machame Gate is only an hour drive from Moshi town. Located on the southern slope of Mount Kilimanjaro, Machame Gate will lead you to the top along the exciting footpath, featuring tropical forests and diverse ecosystem. You will finish the trek in the Arctic desert in the summit area.
Camps along the trek are favorably located for a smooth and gradual acclimatization. On the 3rd day, Machame Route converges with Lemosho and Umbwe at Barranco camp.
While, it is possible to complete the trek in 6 days, we recommend 7 days for Machame route because it makes it easier to acclimatize and helps you get ample rest for the climb, maximizing your chances of reaching the top.
Kilimanjaro Trek - Lemosho route is a 10-day journey that offers a wonderful chance to explore Mount Kilimanjaro through the scenic Lemosho route, an experience that combines natural beauty with a sense of personal achievement. The adventure begins in the lush rainforests, where you’re travel through diverse ecosystems, gradually ascending to the summit of Africa’s highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro.
The Lemosho Route offers a less-traveled path, providing breathtaking views and a challenging yet rewarding trek. As you progress, explore the expansive Shira Plateau, conquer the thrilling Barranco Wall, and traverse the picturesque Karanga Valley surrounded by glaciers and alpine desert.
Witness the sunrise from Stella Point on the crater rim and take in the view from Uhuru Peak. Encounter unique flora, including giant senecios, and marvel at distinctive volcanic formations like the Lava Tower. Stay overnight at the Machame Camp nestled beneath towering peaks and descend through the Mweka Route, reflecting on your accomplishment amidst lush landscapes.
This Kilimanjaro climb promises an unforgettable adventure, weaving together natural wonders and the satisfaction of reaching the "Roof of Africa." Join us for a transformative expedition that leaves you with enduring memories of a remarkable achievement.
Trip overall was terrific. Changes that could be made to future safaris. Game drives should only go out early morning, return to camp by 11am. 2nd game drive should start about 3pm until sunset. Rest at camp from 11am to 3pm. Boxed lunches should be deleted as they were well below standard & not terrible. Rift Valley Photographic Lodge was below standard & one night is plenty. The road in & out of the Lodge was absolutely terrible. My room had a terrible smell from shower drain & I was moved. The next room had no hot water until I chased it up. Swimming pools were all empty. Cut out long village walk as too hot & drive onto next lodge. You need at least 2 full days in the fantastic Ambroseli park. Masai Mara should be 2 full days experience & 2 full days in Ngorongoro Crater. Completely drop day 8 cultural experience etc from itinerary. We were all charged USD20 to visit Masia village but found out later Masai visit was free in initerary. The jeep in Kenya was old & very uncomfortable. The jeep in Tanzania was modern, a good ride & very uncomfortable. That part of the tour needs to be looked due to jeep travelling time.

The Marangu route is perhaps the easiest and most comfortable route to reach the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's tallest peak. We will pick you up from your accommodation in Arusha and drive you to Marangu Gate. From there you follow the trail that takes you to the top of the mountain via Mandara, Horombo and Kibo huts.
The route is well-developed and the climb is constant and of moderate intensity. The only portion that is quite demanding is the approach to the summit. However, you also have the option of adding a day for acclimatization at an additional amount if you want to. The advantage of this route is that kiosks selling mineral water bottles, soft drinks, chocolates and beers are available in camp sites throughout the climb.
