Explore the coastal region of Catalonia during this full-day guided tour and discover some of the most beautiful places on Costa Brava. The coast earned its name due to its rocky, rugged coastline composed of small coves surrounded by pine forests and lapped by crystal water.
The fame of Costa Brava is also due to its villages. Small fishing towns with whitewashed walls and narrow winding streets still retain the charm of a by-gone era.
This tour leaves Barcelona at 8:30 am. However, we recommend that you arrive at the starting point about 15 minutes earlier.
Take the motorway and head for Calella de Palafrugell, a small fishing village where you will reach at around 10:15 am. This village still retains today the traditional appearance of the past and is beautiful, both in termas of architecture and landscape. You have free time to explore the village, enjoy the scenery and take great photographs.
Head for the neighbouring town of Llafranc via Camino de Ronda at around 11:15 am. This hike takes around 30 minutes and is suitable for all ages.
Llafranc is a small, elegant and captivating seaside town with all the delightfulness of the towns on this coast. You will have free time for lunch and taste the typical fishermen’s cuisine of this area. If you wish, you may also go for a swim in the Mediterranean Sea at its splendid beach.
Our next visit will be Begur, a town with elegant mansions located beneath an old castle and famous for its “Indian Houses”. As you stroll along its streets, you will discover this uniquely beautiful architecture which features a unique blend of Mediterranean and Caribbean styles.
Our next stops will be the towns of Peratallada and Pals, which are considered to be the best conserved medieval towns in Catalonia.
Peratallada, declared a Historical-Artistic Site and Cultural Asset of National Interest, is one of the most outstanding examples of the country’s medieval architecture. You will be amazed by its peculiar location on top of a rock, as well as the spectacular moat excavated inside it, which surrounds the town.
At about 17:00 we will travel to Pals, a town located inland and on the top of a hill. The village is built entirely in a medieval site. At the top, there is a cylindrical tower from the 12th century, which is visible from afar. It has an excellent terrace that offers stunning views of the Costa Brava and surroundings. Take time to appreciate the round arches, facades with pointed windows arches and stone balconies, all perfectly restored, as you walk down the cobbled streets.
We leave for Barcelona at 6:00 pm and arrive at around 8.00 pm.

This itinerary was perfect for me and my husband. It would be great if three nights would have been allotted to Lisbon by adding a day and making the tour 10 days instead of 9. Our tour director Sabrina was great!
