My nine-day adventure across Costa Rica was an absolute thrill from start to finish. We explored all the must-see destinations, immersing ourselves in the diverse activities and landscapes the country has to offer. From lush rainforests to stunning beaches, every moment was filled with excitement and discovery. Despite the packed itinerary, the perfect balance of time spent in each location left me feeling like I had been there much longer, allowing for a deeper connection with the culture and environment. It was an unforgettable journey that exceeded my expectations and left me longing for more.
We need a word to describe this trip: When you have expectations, images, and ideas. Yet they all prove to be pathetic, for the reality is much fuller--full of casual sloths, jumping off of waterfalls, picking cacao fruits in someone's backyard, practicing Spanish with locals, spying on a tapir through binoculars at Corcovado National Park. The trip with G Adventures (and most importantly, with Marina), sparked joy in unimaginable way.
This was my first trip with G-Adventures, and it was fantastic! Our CEO, Daniel Alvarez, was outstanding! I will definitely take another tour with G-Adventures in the future! Cheers, Carl
We loved the trip but the packing list was not correct. I packed shampoo and stuff that the resorts provided which wasted room and weight in my luggage. Also there was no need for water purification tablets. We didn't need a whistle or an outlet adapter so I would take these off the list since they take up space in the luggage. A poncho is a must. Everyone we worked with was very professional and positive
Amazing experience! I'd absolutely recommend this style of travel to any friends/ family as it allowed you to experience a culture with locals and others who love to travel. You don't need language experience, knowledge of the area, or lots of pre-planning - you just show up and have a great time!
Overall, my experience in Costa Rica was a mix of incredible moments and some disappointments. While I had the pleasure of staying at authentic, boutique properties offering unique and immersive experiences, some larger, more commercial accommodations fell short in terms of service and attention to detail. However, the stunning landscapes, vibrant culture, and the knowledge, care, and attention of a great guide made all the difference, turning every day into a memorable and enriching experience. I left with many wonderful memories and a deeper appreciation for the destination.
Very enjoyable trip with excellent activities and wildlife. Weather was also perfect throughout the trip and Ernyk was very approachable for any extra assistance. This is a trip I will forever remember for the activities, fun, food, beaches, wildlife and great company. Getting a full holistic experience of Costa Rica with both Caribbean and Pacific culture as well as getting the authentic experience of the homestay. Truly the trip of a lifetime and I cannot wait to start planning my next G adventures trip!
The tour was great due to a very dedicated and inspiring guide and well chosen regions and places in CR. The activity level was just right and the variety in landscape and activity really wonderful.
This trip delivers in what is promises, wildlife! From the Green Turtles, Monkeys, and Toucans in Tortuguero to the Humpback Whales in Manuel Antonio we saw plenty of wildlife, all expertly pointed out by our Tour leader Leo. Additional highlights included the Cocao Tour in San Gerado de Dota and the White Water Rafting, both included in the Tour.
As others have mentioned, the tour could do with a slight change in itinerary, getting us out of San Jose and into the cloud forest sooner and the hotel in La Fortuna was a slight dissapointment given how good all the other hotels were, however this did not put a damper on the overall tour.
I can recommend going in the 'off' season too, the weather was no where near as bad as expected and there were fewer tourists to have to contend with!

The trip really packed in some iconic elements of Costa Rica, and lived up to its name in terms of seeing the highlights. It was great to experience the contrast of the Caribbean lowlands, rain forest and the pacific coast. And seeing the abundance of wildlife was incredible, as well as the delicious local dishes and wonderful people we me along the way.
The guide was great, really personable and had good knowledge and a keen sense to show us as much as possible, often stopping en route when he had spied interesting animals from the van.
The Manuel Antonio and the La Fortuna accommodation was great. The Authentico hotel was fine for passing through but we had paid for an additional night in San Jose, and for this purpose the hotel wasn’t in the best of locations as it was on the edge of the city with not much around in terms of restaurants so we felt a bit stuck in the hotel at the end.
