This tour will give you a true whitewater rafting experience. The Kaituna river is packed with action from start to finish. It is by no means the longest river trip but you will drop over a bunch of horizon lines that will keep you gripped, this include the famous 7m Tutea falls. The river is lined with some of the most beautiful Native bush in all of New Zealand and the water is the warmest from any river in New Zealand. We encourage you to get amongst the river as often as possible with a few jumping spots and even lets you swim a rapid (flow depending). Some of my favorite memories were touring the Sydney Opera House, riding a glass bottom boat over the coral reef, petting a kangaroo, visiting Ayers Rock, dining at the Earth Sanctuary and making damper, the Milford Sound boat ride, steamboat ride with the sheep shearing show and dinner and the dinner in the private home. Seeing th landscape from the air and bus was stunningly beautiful. Food and accommodations were better than expected and our tour guide Gavin Kelner was exemplary. We cherish many memories from this beautiful trip.

We learned about the history of the people and sites. The ancient and current use of the geothermal areas, even eating food cooked in the hot pools was memorable. We rode on 6 different boats in beautiful waterways, seeing native plants and vegetation as well as animal species. The water was glacier blue, clean and clear. Staying in the same hotel for 2 nights in a row, not having to have our bags out early every morning was a treat. We traveled in Land Rovers in the hillsides and rivers of the south NZ island. I loved the Mrs Jones fruit stand stop on the way to the picturesque Milford Sound. Tourists were well received and cared for at all locations. I wished we had more time in Auckland and the north island of NZ. Australia had its own wonderful flavor of living. It was great to experience it as well.
