Oceania Tours in November 2026

The 5 days gave a good look at Tasmania with some very worthwhile stops of interest. The accommodation was of a high standard with good size rooms. A bit unfortunate that the room in Hobart had a big window that looked out onto a concrete wall about 80cm away. The sites we stopped at were of historic interest. The lavender farm was great but a pity not in flower. Loved the walk to Cape Tourville lighthouse and the views of the coast.

Our trip leader Blair was excellent. He was always in a good mood and looking for ways to help us have fun. He knew a lot about the destinations so he always had activities to suggest or even when food wasn’t included he would book somewhere or give us suggestions on places to go. I was surprised by how easy he made everything. We made plenty of stops between destinations so we were always kept busy with activities or sightseeing. The locations were amazing and the group was kind and easy to talk to. The only thing I can fault was a communication mishap. I’d never used WhatsApp, which was chosen for our group chat and it required phone number 2FA to verify registration. I did not have access to my Australian number and the Topdeck ESIM was data only (no number) so I ended up buying a NZ sim just to be included in the group chat. If the allocated app could be communicated to us before departing for NZ I could have prepared this before I arrived. Otherwise a 10/10!!!

We had a great time. New Zealand is beautiful the people were very friendly and our Tour guide was outstanding. was very organized and knowledgeable about her country. She did a great job of making our days fun and relaxing while still making sure we all got where we neeed to be.

Such a well organised tour, with our tour director Isabel, who was out of this world. She was on top of everything, nothing was a problem and all carried out in a light hearted happy way. Left everyone at ease. Her rapier with Pete the bus driver was very funny at times, with Pete being a very role and humorous guy. Never mind his excellent driving, but his dry wit at times was class. We got to see parts of New Zealand we wouldn’t have if we were driving ourselves and the amount of facts that Isobel told us was mind boggling. All vey professional and so personal as well.

Amazing holiday and well worth the price. The dinners included are amazing (especially the last one). Topdeck pack a lot of stuff into the itinerary which always makes it like you have something to do. Also our tour guide was ace. Although there is a lot of driving since New Zealand is a big country so worth being prepared for that.

What a wonder-filled trip. Between the cultural education, the beauty of the landscapes and our great tour director and bus driver we couldn’t have asked for much more. It’s impossible to name just one memorable experience. The Bay of Islands, Mt Cook, Christchurch Gardens, Milford Sound and many more!
