Nearly all of the guides were wonderful.
I don’t remember the name of the guide who took us to El Chaltén but we appreciated that he took us seriously as trekkers and suggested a slightly longer trek with beautiful views. We thoroughly enjoyed that trek!
And we also were very happy with our guide in Tiera del Fuego. She was very lively, knowledgeable and provided us with a couple of wonderful hike and a delicious lunch. We loved all she knew about the birds, trees and geology on the area."

The team really put together a great itinerary that takes you to meet the natural beauty of Argentina. Our adventure through the Humahuaca Gorge was an absolute highlight. Enjoy the best rafting experience in Mendoza during this 5-hour-long program. Your journey down the river starts in Potrerillos with a safety briefing and an introduction to rafting. After you wear the necessary gear supplied by us, your descent starts through the rapids of the Mendoza River.
Splash your way through 10 class III rapids plus 5 class II rapids while enjoying the beautiful landscape of the Andes Mountains. The Mendoza River is a giant stream of water that makes its way down the mountains, layers of which were created 65 million years ago when this area was inhabited by prehistoric animals.
The starting point of this adventure is located near the International Route 7, while it ends 12km downstream at Potrerillos Lake. The trip back to the starting point takes 20 minutes by road. Throughout the adventure, you will be under the supervision of guides who have received International Rescue Certification courses and will be accompanied by kayakers for safety reasons. We will drop you back at your hotel in Mendoza afterwards.
In Mendoza, there are many different ways to experience the snowmelt waters of the Andes. For the adventurer, we offer rafting trips throughout the year on a Class III river. All of our excursions are on the wild and scenic portion of the Mendoza River, above the Potrerillos Dam and Reservoir

This was a fantastic trip that lived up fully to its billing, as we saw many spectacular and varied landscapes and we sampled many gorgeous wines. The guide Lucia was very knowledgeable and helpful throughout. My only observation is that it was a hard trip in terms of several very long days travelling of 8 or more hours - over 12 hours on one day - which meant we rarely had the chance to relax and/or enjoy the hotel facilities (e.g. pools in most hotels).
The Trip Notes highlighted this but even so, after more than a dozen Explore trips previously which we thought prepared us for a lot of time on the road , we were still surprised. Essentially the trip was 12 full days and we thought it could have been stretched to 14 to cover the same itinerary - maybe an extra day in Cafayate and in Cachi?
Why for example, did we travel from Mendoza to Aconcagua (a brilliant trip) but then back to Mendoza (3 hours each way) on one day, only to retrace our steps almost all the way back to Aconcagua on the next day, on the way to the next stop? This retracing of the same route wasted 6 hours, or almost a full day? Why did we not go from Aconcagua directly to the next stop, instead of back to Mendoza?
In summary, this is a great tour, but we recommend you review the itinerary and through better planning and some extra time make it a more relaxing tour spread over over one or two more days.
