Egypt is a vast country with such a rich history that it would be impossible to try to do absolutely everything, with that said the tour really does a great job of showing all of the amazing sights Egypt has to offer. One of the best trips I have done for ages. Mohamed was an amazing guide - not only knowledgeable but also great at helping us to navigate travelling in Egypt and at arranging things so that it all flowed smoothly and easily. It is an amazing itinerary, especially if you allow for including as many of the optional excursions as you can - an intense ten days with a huge amount packed in without feeling rushed. Hotels were all good (and well located), as was the boat and the food. The sleeper train was probably the low point - not all that comfortable and poor food - but it made the best use of the time in terms of travelling and it's only for one night. Despite tensions elsewhere in the Middle East, this never felt unsafe in any way. Overall, an amazing trip and well worth going. Thanks to Mohamed and all at Explore!

This itinerary was a great way to see all the highlights Egypt has to offer. Along with a fantastic Tour Director this is the perfect trip for anyone interested in the history. Part of the itinerary was a cruise on the Nile. The ship and crew were fantastic and it was easily one of my favorite parts. With daily stops and chances to bond with other Travellers it was so much fun. This Trafalgar tour includes both ancient history and current day industry. It was very interesting to see how they make different items today in Egypt. The food provided with the itinerary was great, options for everyone. I highly recommend this itinerary.

The “second day” the flight is SUPER early and you have to leave the hotel at 4 am. That was not communicated anywhere and we didn’t arrive at the hotel u til after 11 pm the night before. It made the morning very difficult! Also, it would be helpful if there was a place by the day noting if women needed to cover shoulders/knees or men knees. When I was packing and googling, it said that at Kom Ombo (and most of the temples) it was recommended to have shoulder and knees covered, but when we got there I was told we didn’t need it. I had a lot more pants packed then I needed and that would have been helpful to know when I actually needed to wear more conservative clothing or having my hair covered. Overall the itinerary was good. We saw a lot and had a great guide! We were on the Steinberger cruise ship - I would not recommend that one again. Very limited. We were on Thai ship with another group from Trafalgar that paid less for the tour and we had no extras. We allowed one drink at dinner and one bottle of water.. anything more we had to pay for. They didn’t have coffee/tea available throughout the day for free. It seemed like they were nickel and diming the guests. I have been on other River cruises and unlimited water, beverages at dinner, and feee coffee/tea throughout the day in the lounge was accessible.

The customer service as well as our accommodations/food were the best we have had on any tour we have taken. It was a definite plus being met at the airports and transferred. We had so much fun with our group! Lots of walking, so people need to be aware of this when booking....great itinerary with varied experiences!
