A trip like this depends on many factors especially the guide and travel companions. In this case we were so fortunate to have Fabio Giorlando as our exceptional guide. Our travel companions were terrific! The itinerary was varied and interesting. The family run businesses we visited warmly welcomed us and shared their stories and food/wine experiences. The food and restaurant choices were enjoyable. It was very nice that Fabio arranged reservations at restaurants for the meals not covered by the tour making it easy for us to decide whether to eat there or elsewhere (we always ate there and the food and venue were always good.)

We can't say enough about how wonderful it was! Not only did we get to experience 10 different countries and the sites and culinary experiences they offered, but we met some really fun travel mates along the way. Some hotels were better than others, but they were all super clean, provided a good breakfast, a bar for a nightcap, and most importantly, a comfortable bed. Our driver Chris was amazing, and our tour leader Steve was the absolute best - knowledgeable, organized, entertaining, and ultra-personable. The bus rides went quickly with frequent comfort stops, times for naps and time for reading/puzzles, and a couple trivia contests. We are already looking into our next Expat tour!!

Wow to Turkey. So many things to say. Stunning landscapes, amazing cities, beautiful beaches, delicious meals and soooo much incredible history. My personal preference would have been for more time in Pompeii (half a day is barely time to scratch the surface) and to skip the stop in Naples, but if you're more interested in modern cities than archaeology, you'd probably disagree.
