This trip was fast paced, very active and jam packed but stunningly beautiful! I am not sure what i was expecting from Crete but it wasn't this, this was even better! We got to swim in crystal clear waters, hike the famous Samaria Gorge, as well as visit archaeological sites, it had a bit of everything.

The trip was well run and our guide was excellent. The walks were more challenging than we thought they would be. The itinerary suggests that some are leisurely hikes - not so! It also suggests that on one of the days we walk on a pebbled path- not so! We actually climbed over huge rocks on a steep ledge with a sheer drop to the right. It was more challenging than the itinerary suggests. However the trip was brilliant as we had total faith in our guide. Perhaps you could give clearer explanations .

He even made sure we got our boat tickets to visit another part of the island on the rest day - which was above and beyond his responsibilities. This was a trip of a lifetime! Every turn on this trip was like a page in my old geography/history books. The food was exceptional throughout the trip. Our tour guide, Savvos, was the best! It is evident he loves his job. However, the activity level of this trip needs to be rated higher, in my opinion. I understand that the nature of the islands means more walking and climbing because of where most attractions were located, but I believe the activity level should be 4 or 5 as a result. I will scrutinize all trips in the future.

All aspects of the tour were outstanding. The itinerary was fairly rapid given we (my wife and I) opted for all the offered excursions. Having said that we did not feel it was too fast. The fact that there was only one hotel change allowed us to have more time overall to see the wonderful history and sites that are all over Italy. Our tour manager was wonderful. His knowledge and experience showed clearly in how smoothly the entire tour went. Our bus driver was amazing moving a large vehicle through the narrow winding streets of Rome, the Amalfi Coast and in between. The local guides were also excellent for the brief times we spent with them. All in all the tour was wonderful and worth every penny we paid.
