At 7:00 am you will be picked-up from your hotel or Nile Cruise in Luxor by our guide. You will then be transferred by private A/C vehicle to the West Bank where you will visit the Valley Of The Kings.
The valley represents the magnificence of the grandeur of architecture which was used for burial and there are many kings buried in this valley. The most famous tombs are King Tutmosis I, Tutmosis III, Tut-Ankh-Amon, King Ramssess VI, King Mrenptah and Amonhotep II.
We follow this by a visit to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, also known as El Dir El Bahari. The temple was built by Queen Hatshepsut, the daughter of Thutmosis I, who ruled Egypt about 20 years during the 18th Dynasty (approximately 1490-1469 B.C). She was the only pharaonic woman to reign over ancient Egypt.
We continue our day tour to the Colossi of Memnon which are remains of the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III.
Around noon-afternoon we will transfer you back to your hotel or Nile Cruise in Luxor.

We continue our day tour by visiting the Temple of Luxor. It was built by Amunhotep III in 18th Dynasty in the New Kingdom and was completed by Ramesses II during the 19th Dynasty.
These ancient sites depict a part of history that would have been completely forgotten had these temples not been around to remind us of the history of civilization.
Later you will be driven back to your hotel in Luxor or to the Luxor airport.

We start this family tour in Cairo with a visit to the awe-inspiring Pyramids and Sphinx, followed by a trip to the vast Egyptian Museum - famous for its Tutankhamun exhibition and creepy mummy room. Next, we climb aboard the overnight sleeper train and make our way south to the picturesque town of Aswan on the banks of the River Nile. Here we visit the temple of Philae, join in on an English/Arabic language session at a local school (term times only), and enjoy a traditionally prepared Nubian meal with a locla family. There is also an early morning option to visit the amazing Sun Temple of Ramses II at Abu Simbel. Leaving Aswan behind we float down the River Nile on board a traditional Egyptian felucca sailboat taking in the rural scenery along the way. At 7:00 am our guide will pick you up from your hotel in Luxor and transfer by private A/C vehicle to Edfu, around 50 minutes drive south of Luxor.
Arrive in Edfu where you can visit the majestic Temple of Edfu that is dedicated to Horus. The Temple of Edfu s considered by most to be the best preserved cult temple in Egypt. According to the Egyptian myths, it was the place where the falcon-headed god Horus revenged the murder of his father Osiris by killing Seth.

Then we continue our day tour to Kom Ombo around 45 minutes drive from Edfu.
Arrive in Kom Ombo and transfer to see the Temple of Kom Ombo standing on high grounds overlooking the Nile. It differs from other temples because of its double entrance, each one is dedicated to divinity: "Haroeris" with his falcon head and " Sobek " with his crocodile head. The Temple of Kom Ombo was built in honor of two deities - the crocodile-headed Sobek, god of fertility and creator of the world, and Haroeris or the ancient falcon-headed Horus. Also, Kom Ombo's importance lies in its huge sugar-cane fields.
Then around 16:30 pm we transfer you back to your hotel in Luxor. Private knowledgeable guide will accompany you throughout the whole tour until returning back to Luxor.

It is truly a wonderful experience, but at the same time a truly "educational one"! Our tour director, was exceptional not wasting a moment of any day, pointing out the very significant points of interests, at the same time, taking every part of this significant history in a chronological order.
The accomodations and service, both on the boat and in the hotel were five start plus, since we live in the Palm Beaches and use to up-scale adventure, made the "Breakers", look like an outhouse.....need I say more!
The value vs the price were evenly matched.
As for shopping, once again, significant shops were selected to include, spice, perfumes, and of course jewelry. At the same time educationing you on their wares and how they are used.
Like INSIGHT always does, is taking you inside the home of a residemt and demonstrates their current life style and habits, only in this example, demonstrated how bread was made not only for their family, but the entire neighborhood.
