We travelled a day early so as to be fresh for the first day. Explored Cairo. It is hot, dirty, poor and broken but that doesn’t mean it’s not a vibrant exciting place to visit. There’s lots to see and do and once you’ve realised that even though most people are friendly, they are after your money. Learn this lesson early. But it feels very safe., Ahmed was our guide for the 10 days. A very proud Egyptian and Muslim. A font of all knowledge and a lovely guy. The Pyramids of Giza are amazing and great fun to explore inside. Certain level of fitness needed but worth the sweat and pain. The over night train. An experience that will stay with me for life. To describe it as first class is stretching it a bit. A moment that if you didn’t laugh, you’d cry. I have since relayed my story to friends and ended up crying with laughter. So it was worth it. My wife complained that I was snoring so it couldn’t have been that bad. I’ll let you discover the toilet . Needless to say that the track flys by when you look down the pan .. Onto Aswan. The Temple at Abu Simbel was breath taking and worth the extra fee. It is a very early start and long drive. Because of the numbers we had a mini bus where a coach would have been more comfortable. The Cruise. The boat was pleasant and the food good and they serve beer. Traveled up to Luxor where it got a lot hotter. Another early start for the optional balloon flight but well worth it for the sunrise and views over the Valley We saw a lot of temples and tombs and when you think you’re templed out , you see something that makes it worth it. The tombs in the valley of the kings are amazing in their feats of engineering and decoration. We had a nice meal with a family on the way back and I recommend the meal with the Nubian people in Aswan. It’s difficult to find negatives. It is full on. Long days and a lot of time on your feet. You’ll always have the option to sit out some visits of your tired and the boat trip gives you time to recharge.

Truly my dreams came true of exploring the pyramids, temples, mosques, and cities of Egypt! I am so grateful to have experienced this in my lifetime and want to return one day. Truly the GEM of the experience was our tour guide Dalia, who far exceeded my expectations for knowledge, planning, guidance, and empathy! I travel a lot with groups, but this was the best experience. Everyone I know in the USA warned me about traveling to this region, but with the group I was always safe & protected. As a solo female traveler it was incredible to be secure with a group I now consider friends, and have the utmost respect and gratitude for Dalia guiding and knowing every conceivable answer about Egyptology, Arabic language, Egypt history & culture; and offering suggestions for a return. Forever grateful. Shukran ❤️

Absolutely incredible dream come true trip! Mohammed was absolutely fantastic- answered all our questions, gave wonderful tours, super helpful and friendly. He made the tour and went above and beyond to help everyone of us. The tour took us to all the best historical sites and the Nile cruise was perfect. Highly recommend this to everyone!!

From the moment we booked our tour we were impressed with Expat Explore. Regular and professional communication prior to departure kept us fully informed and made us feel valued. Tour itinerary was excellent; sites visited were breathtaking; accommodation and transportation extremely well organised. Particular mention should be made of our tour guide - Ramez - whose passion for Egypt and Egyptology shone throughout the tour. Knowledgeable, experienced, warm, friendly, caring and patient. Ramez's presence took our tour to another level. If you're thinking of touring Egypt, don't dither - do it and use Expat Explore!

My daughter and I have been planning a trip to Egypt for years and decided to add on a trip to Jordan right before we booked. This trip did not disappoint, our guides in both countries were incredible. They shared cultural, historical and religious knowledge with us that led to a greater understanding of not only the history of both of these amazing countries but also of the people that live in them now. All of the destinations on our trip wowed us, and being in a group of only 4 we were able to ask questions and learn so much from our guides. Even though we traveled at a time of political unrest in the region we never once felt unsafe. Staying at a diverse assortment of accommodations also allowed us some unique experiences. We created memories that will last a lifetime and it doesn't get better than that.
