This was our second trek in Nepal having done Poon Hill in 2018. The Langtang Valley route is less crowded than Poon Hill. The trek is not easy with lots of ups and downs and a certain level of fitness is required. However, our efforts were well-rewarded with varied and breath-taking scenery along the route. The tea houses varied in level of comfort provided, with some having en suite western bathrooms while others, such as the Lama Hotel, were very basic with shared squat-style toilets and an outside shower room. The road to Syabrubesi is long and bumpy - I would definitely recommend getting the private jeep from Kathmandu. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the Langtang Valley trek and would recommend it.

Upper Mustang Trek - July 2027
Upper Mustang Trekking offers a great opportunity to get insights into Trans Himalayan region of Annapurna which is quite similar to Tibetan trans-Himalayan topography. The colorful rock formations with numerous cave dwellings high up the cliffs, impressive chortens and ancient monasteries reflect the culture and traditions of Buddhism. Along with topographical similarities, the local people still follow the centuries old life style and traditions. You get an amazing feeling of isolation while trekking around the deserted lands which also enchants and inspires visitors to this region.
Major attraction and actually an opportunity during our Upper Mustang trek is the walled city of Lo-Manthang palaces. Upper Mustang is known as forbidden kingdom and still sees very few tourists each year. Trek along the land of canyons of the Kali Gandaki River, across the rugged land where people have saved their centuries old culture in Buddhist chortens, small stupas, atop hills, on pathways leading into villages and even inside caves. Tibetan Buddhism and the myths are intertwined threads that are in turn woven into the landscape.
Finally as you reach Lo Manthang, we will also arrange your meeting to King of Mustang, Jigme Parbal Bista in the walled capital Lo Manthang. Yes, Nepal is republic but Mustang even today has a king! The Mustangi locals have their own head of the tribe whom they respect, he is known as Mustangi King. Visit the three red-walled monasteries at the heart of the town; watch the astonishing way of life and family life around the nomadic villages.
The best time to trek around Upper Mustang Trek is from the month of March to November. This trek can be joined even during the monsoon season as Upper Mustang lies in rain-shadow area and receives negligible amount of rainfall. So, except in winter due to extreme cold, this trek to the hidden kingdom is recommended during anytime of the year.

We had an amazing time with Pasang Sherpa, our trip leader, who has a wealth of knowledge about the Manaslu Tibetan settlement in the hidden kingdom of Nepal. The Manaslu Circuit Trek is a challenging and rewarding journey around the world's eighth highest mountain, Manaslu. It offers breathtaking views of Himalayan peaks, diverse landscapes, rich culture, and wildlife. The trek usually takes 11 to 14 days and requires a special permit. The highest point is Larkya La Pass, which stands at 5,106 meters. The best time to embark on this trek is during spring and autumn, when temperatures are moderate, the skies are clear, and there is less rainfall. Our experience was completely wonderful from start to finish. The tour company made booking in difficult times straight forward and rather easy.
The local operator who were looking after us in Kathmandu and on our trek were perfect. From the moment we cleared customs we were completely looked after and had absolutely no worries or concerns, everything was taken care of for us.
We we collected by Ram our trek guide and transferred to the hotel, we met Indira there and she was and is an amazing woman. Everything was explained to us and we were given everything we needed. Indira is the perfect hostess, she arranged a private tour for us and gave us her contact number in case there was anything we were unsure of or needed.
On the trek Ram was amazing, so helpful and knowledgeable, he sorted everything for us day to day and made sure our moral was kept high particularly when the going got tough! He gave us so much insight and information into life in Nepal and on the trek and never left our side. We felt so lucky he was our guide and cant thank him enough. Without you Ram we would never have got to EBC love ya mate!!
We renewed our wedding vows at EBC and back in Kathmandu Indira arranged a monk to give us a blessing ceremony at Monkey Temple. Her care and attention to detail was humbling and touching. We were worried about the PCR test before flying back, this again was sorted by Indira, what an amazing woman. Thank you Indira.
A special mention for Prabin our Sherpa/Porter who carried our gear for us an amazing young man with lungs the size of planets and Parashu our Kathmandu guide who gave us a wonderfully informative tour of the cities sights.
Some advice for people wanting to do the EBC trek please book it with this local operator, amazing service, great customer care, brilliant people and truly top value for your money.

I had the most wonderful time undertaking the Gokyo EBC trek back in 2017. The Apasara hotel was great, food beautiful and the staff extremely helpful. I would have no hesitation in recommending advadventures guys and would be very happy to recommend Hom as an excellent tour guide. We will be joining our next trip with Hom later for sure.

Excellent service and prompt response especially from the owner and CEO of this travel company. We had a great experience during Annapurna Base Camp trek. Our porters and our guide were awesome! They went out of their way to make us feel safe, comfortable and we had to keep changing itineraries to accommodate all the things we want to do including paragliding. I did Everest base camp trek in the month of April 2023 with the support of this local travel specialist and it was one of my favorite treks.
