My partner and I had the most amazing experience with this local travel specialist. We completed the three high passes + EBC trail, with my partner even going on to summit Island Peak (successfully!). Our guide Kanchha Tamang made sure we had the best experience - a well planned itinerary to ensure we acclimatised properly, looking out for any signs of AMS, looking after us when we both got sick with viruses on the trail. We had flexibility to change our itinerary a bit to maximise our chance of the best views as we were walking quicker than expected. Kanchha always made sure we had fun, made great memories, learned lots about the culture and history of the regions we were in, and supported us so well through what can be a pretty challenging few weeks on the trail. We miss him already! Special shout-out to our amazing porter Jiban, without whom the trek would not have been possible and for whom we are so grateful. And another special mention to Rajendra who managed our trip and who goes truly above and beyond for his clients. When we mentioned to Kanchha we were interested in exploring Pokhara after our trek had finished, he called Rajendra who then arranged everything for us (flights, accomodation, recommendations for activities, booked us in for paragliding). When we got stranded in Lukla for a few days due to grounded planes, it is due to the tireless efforts of Kanchha & Rajendra that we were able to get out of the mountains on a helicopter and continue our holiday.

I had a wonderful time trekking to the Everest Base Camp with Nepal Eco. Chhatra was very enthusiastic in our communications before the trip and furnished me readily with the necessary details of visa, permits, documents, equipment, etc. He responds speedily and is meticulous in his information. My guide, Dawa, was an affable and jovial personality who was always glad to share his abundance of technical and cultural knowledge. We had quite a few drinks together and had a whale of a time in the mountains. I was unfortunate to meet with some ATM hiccups and ran out of cash mid-trek, but Dawa came to the rescue, lending me money and sponsoring my tea most of the time. After the EBC trek I was supposed to continue on to Island peak, but heeding Dawa's advice on the foul weather I decided against it. Chhatra was kind enough to reimburse me for that part of the trip; I believe few agencies would be as transparent and generous as he. Safe to say, I had the time of my life nonetheless, and it's all thanks to these guys.

Island Peak Climbing from Chhukung is a great way to explore some of the best and most stunning views of the Himalayan range. It takes some effort to climb the peak but you're sure to fall in love with the endless views of Everest, Makalu, and Lhotse and mesmerizing experiences found here. At Chhuking (4750m), a short walk leads to a small settlement where we rest for the day and make preparations for the climb. The next day we head on to Island Peak Base Camp, which requires a steep climb followed by a comfortable walk through the river basin. We climb further to the High Camp at an elevation of 5600 meters where we rest inside the tent and prepare for the early morning climb the next day. Through rock formations and glacial regions, we ascend to the top, taking the support of ropes at some places. After enjoying the splendid view from the top, we descend all the way to Chhukung, where we rest after the strenuous journey. Island Peak located in Everest Region offers an impressive and highly glaciated face that emerges from the Lhotse Glacier. Island peak at an elevation of 6189m is actually an extension of Lhotse Shar located between the Lhotse and Imja glaciers. Island peak climbing also offers spectacular scenery of the Khumbu region and the Chhukung valley. We begin our climbing expedition with a flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. We accompany the Dudh Koshi river valley and stay one day in the Sherpa town of Namche Bazzar and enjoy the local market.
