It was a great vacation my wife and I also used Trafalgar to vacation in Ireland both tours were fantastic the tour guides really know their way around both Ireland & Italy

I understand that its important to have an enticing list of destinations, but some cities only allowed for a few evening hours. Personally I would have paid extra for a Frecciarossa in order to obtain a few more time.
The tour provides a sampling of the shrines of Italy. I wanted to see the home of Padre Pio and was not disappointed. I was lucky enough to experience a spiritual light here My son died of cancer and followed Padre Pio and it was here I finally knew he was at peace and so was I . The stories of the Nazareth at the church in Lareto was amazing. It would have been nicer to spend more time there. This tour is not for people who cannot do stairs, some of the churches require walking up and down. Food in some of the places was was like banquet food and was terrible at the dinners. The pasta was great but some of the meats were horrible, some of the food was oversalted. Breakfast was the best.

The hotline staff was friendly and helpful. I bought the airport transfer from the Glasgow hotel. The UK transfer service is better than the Paris service. Overall, we enjoy the tour and will come back.

Through the extensive footpath network of the area, roughly following the traces of the Via Francigena, one of Europe’s most important ‘highways’ in medieval times, you walk from village to village and experience a full immersion in the world-famous Tuscan landscape. You will also have time to visit all the beautiful medieval villages and historic towns along the Via Francigena: starting from beautiful Lucca, you’ll pass through Fucecchio, San Miniato, Gambassi Terme, the stunning San Gimignano with its medieval skyscrapers and Monteriggioni, admired by Dante in his Divine Comedy. An optional detour can bring you to beautiful Colle Val d’Elsa and the tour ends in Siena, arguably the most perfectly preserved medieval town in Tuscany. This tour threads together some of the most attractive towns and villages in Tuscany in an eloquent procession.
However, the emphasis of the tour is to enjoy the countryside, the rolling vineyards, the poppies in spring and the wild cyclamen in autumn.
