Fairly flat cycle ride of approximately 40 miles/day on mainly quiet roads or off road on the Via Verde, though there was some cycling on busy main roads. We had non stop sunshine and temperatures in mid 30s for our trip in late September, but felt that some of the Via Verde route would be almost impossible if it was wet. There were some good hills to ascend most days.
This is a wonderful itinerary for the price. We were able to see many points of interest in a short period of time and many of the add-on activities were excellent. I particularly liked the private Danube cruise in Budapest and the folklore night in Prague.

We had a fantastic time on this group tour - so many cool experiences and adventures that we'll never forget! It was great to just pack our suitcase and go! What a treat to have everything arranged in advance - it allowed us to just enjoy it and have fun! There were many things we did that I would not have done if I arranged the trip myself. The amount of time spent each stop. Very informative places to see. Accommodation was excellent. Tour director organized well. Some places when meals on our own, poor food choices. Some places one night not enough.

You will see beautiful old buildings and many other things on this interesting trip but early May was the wrong time to go this year. We were quite cold most of the time. During our walking tour of Tartu, it even snowed a little. At least we didn't encounter much rain.
The hotels are very good, with excellent access to the Old Towns in the three capitals. Explore has changed the hotels that people complained about, I think.
