I’ve always loved Italy, but doing it by rail added a special touch. Over eight days, we hit Rome, Florence, Venice, and wrapped up in Milan, all by high-speed train. The pace worked perfectly for me (I’m 58), with fresh city arrivals each morning and comfortable hotels each night
The highlights: a hop-on hop-off loop in Rome hit the Colosseum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain , an optional wine tasting tour that I booked in Florence and Venice’s gondola ride. Everything flowed perfectly well..no dragging suitcases or missed trains.
For travelers in our age bracket, this tour blends comfort, culture, and hassle-free travel. If you want Italy’s treasures without the planning headache, this rail tour delivers in a big way.

When here, you can visit the Roman Colosseum, Navona Square, Trevi Fountain, St Peter's Basilica and the Vatican Museum. The next stop of this journey is Florence, the capital city of Tuscany. My wife and I recently completed the Czechia UNESCO Tour (7 Sites in 6 Days) on on September 26, 2025, and we were absolutely thrilled with our guide, Michal. He was the definitive highlight of our journey. Michal possesses deep, genuine expertise on every site, from the spectacular Prague Castle complex to the beautiful medieval streets of Cesky Krumlov, and the Moravian jewels like Telč and Třebíč. His knowledge of history and architecture was truly impressive, but what set him apart was his warm, engaging personality and commitment to making our small group experience perfect. Beyond his guiding prowess, Michal is a truly talented individual—a singer in the local cappella band Skety. This personal passion added such a wonderful, human dimension to the tour. Hearing about his life and connection to the Czech culture truly enriched our understanding of the places we visited. It was clear that he wasn't just reciting facts; he was sharing his home with us. We highly recommend requesting Michal. He is an outstanding professional who offers an unforgettable experience, combining world-class guidance with personal charm and local insight. Thank you, Michal, for making our trip so memorable!

Three of us girlfriends decided it was time for an Italian cultural recharge, and we picked the rail tour to hit the highlights with ease.
We explored Rome and saw the Coloseum as we opted for an optional tour. Florence was also beautiful.
Venice was pure magic. Our shared gondola ride under the Bridge of Sighs (with just six in the gondola) felt cozy and unforgettable . We spent afternoons discovering boutique shops and colorful squares.
For us, this tour struck the perfect balance. Relaxed evenings with wine and laughter. The train travel was a breeze, everything was well-coordinated.

The trip was good but a few things need to be addressed - the hotels were not very good - wallpapers were peeling, carpets were very dirty and torn and the breakfast was not good. The bus rivers were great but the seats were too close to each other - my tall sons did not have enough legroom. The guides were wonderful and helpful Next time we would like to not be put together with another group that speaks a different language.
