The scenery is vast and diverse as we trek our way through tall swaying corn cropped field to distant green river valleys with one of the great wonders of the world as our backdrop. My husband, Dr George Thomas & I have just completed a tour of a few cities in your beautiful country from 15th June to 22nd June. I wished to give you feedback regarding the trip from it's planning to its implementation.
1) Nick Cheng was a pleasure to deal with: Prompt, courteous and so approachable. I called him up many times, sometimes even beyond his official hours, but he was always available for me. I'm impressed by his professionalism, and his customized planning of an excellent holiday where I could enjoy the beauty, as well as, the culture of your great country. I grade him 10/10, a marvelous performance indeed!
2) All three guides, Simon, Susan and Anna were very good representatives of your country & its culture. They were informative without being pushy, respected time, allowed us to enjoy the sights and doubled up as friends & photographers when needed! I have fallen in love with your country because I saw many Chinese people were happy and comfortable with the lives they lead.
One week in China was an eye opening experience. I'm amazed & admiring of the changes wrought in the country & would love to visit again, when possible.
Regards,
Very passionate about making your experience as enjoyable as possible. My wife and I honeymooned in the Guilin and Yangshou area and again did a trip with this local travel specialist for our 10th anniversary.

Fabulous & remarkable trip! Jansen went above & beyond with his customer service & taking care of everyone’s special needs and requests. The itinerary was fantastic and the guides were marvelous. Dianna also did a great job and was very accommodating.
My only critique is that we should have been provided more information on the difficulties with using credit cards and ATM’s in China and the prevalent use of cash only. I have traveled to 55 countries & never had difficulty using credit cards & ATM’s until China. Most places wouldn’t take US Visa or Mastercard & ATM’s wouldn’t give me Chinses yen

The Beijing guide and driver will be holding a sign with your name written on it and pick you up from your hotel lobby at 18:20. Drive to the theater directly. Peking opera has more than 230 years of history. It is believed that Peking opera gradually came into being after 1790 when the famous four Anhui Opera Troupes came to Beijing. Peking opera developed quickly during the reign of Emperor Qianlong and the Empress Dowager Cixi under their imperial patronage, eventually becoming more common to the common people.
In ancient times, the costumes were a garish collection of sharply contrasting colors to stand out on the dimly illuminated stage only lit by oil lamps. Peking opera is a harmonious combination of the Grand Opera, ballet and acrobatics consisting of dance, martial arts and mime.
The Peking opera band mainly consists of an orchestra and percussion band. The former frequently accompanies peaceful scenes while the latter provides the right atmosphere for battle scenes. The commonly used percussion instruments include castanets, drums, bells and cymbals. One person usually plays the castanets and drums simultaneously, which conducts the entire band.
The orchestral instruments include the Erhu, Huqin, Yueqin, Sheng (reed pipe), Pipa (lute) and other instruments. The band usually sits on the left side of the stage. Afterwards, your Chinese driver will take you back to your hotel.
Discover the best of China from Shanghai on this 22-day Essentials tour. Enjoy the view over Shanghai from a rooftop bar and explore the lush scenery of Yangshuo by bike and bamboo raft. A trip to China isn’t complete without a visit to the Great Wall. One of the seven wonders of the world, the Wall covers an enormous 8,850 kilometers across China. One of humankind’s biggest engineering miracles, the best way to enjoy the beauty of the wall is by hiking across it.
On this four-day tour, hike along the Great Wall near Beijing and visit the not-to-be-missed places in the capital such as the Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Hutong. Lower your pace and walk along beautiful mountain ridges and the unrestored and less known sections of the Great Wall. The breathtaking views are often without another traveller in sight!
Staying in the villages at the foot of the mountains is a great opportunity to connect with the friendly hosts and learn about rural life in China.
