Hanoi – Halong (-/L/-)
In the morning:
7:30 - 8:30 a.m: Pick you up at the hotel and leave for Halong Bay. Short break en route in Hai Duong Province (20mins). Arrive in Halong Bay around 12:00. Get on a traditional wooden junk boat.
In the afternoon:
12.30 p.m: Lunch with fresh seafood is served (vegetarian and kids menus available). We are slowly getting off the classic cruising routes, keep admiring the amazing kasts with different formations on the way. Limestone rock formations will parade around us for about 2 hours before our first stop.
Cruise around Halong Bay, and take photos. On the way, witness the beauty of Dinh Huong Island (incense burner), Cho Da Island (stone dog), and Ga Choi Island (fighting cocks). You will enjoy sunbathing and the magnificent scenery of Halong Bay.
2.30 p.m: Cruise to visit Thien Cung and Dau Go caves, and a fishing-farm located on the bay. Walk up about 60 steps to the cave entrance and tour the cave for approximately 45 minutes. Walk down about 100 steps and return to the boat.
Thien Cung Cave or the Cave of Heavenly Palace is on the same island with Dau Go Cave. While Dau Go Cave boasts the mossy beauty and glorious history, Thien Cung Cave makes the visitors the impression of being in a heavenly world.
4.30 p.m: At the end of the day, cruise back to the harbor and take a bus back to Hanoi and drop off at your hotel.
We will pick you from your hotel at 8 am for a full day tour of Cambodia.
Your first stop is at Banteay Srey, a magnificent Cambodian temple that worships the Hindu god of Shiva. Located in the iconic Angkor complex, this temple is considered to be the Mona Lisa of the East. It is built entirely out of pink sandstones and has often been called the Temple of Women.
We proceed to the Phnom Kulen, a magnificent mountain in the Siem Reap Province. Explore the iconic Elephant pond, that majestic waterfall and 56 Angkorian that have been built with bricks and volcanic stones while in the region.
At 12.00 pm, we will enjoy a traditional lunch with many Khmer dishes. After lunch, we continue to Beng Mealea temple, a 900 years old that ranks as one of the largest temples of the Khmer Empire. Unlike Angkor Wat, this temple was ignored and was allowed to be lost to time. Today, the jungle can be seen devouring these beautiful ruins, tree roots and twisted vines taking over its ancient towers, courtyards and chambers.
Head back to the hotel at 18.00.
You will be picked up from your hotel at 8.30 am for an amazing day tour of Phnom Penh.
We will pay a visit to the well-known Notorious Tuol Sleng Museum. Built on the base of a high school, this museum was used as the infamous S-21 by the Khmer Rouge regime from its powerful reign in 1975 to its collapse in 1979. Just being in the place gives you a bone-chilling experience as stories, legends and exhibits narrate the harrowing tales of hardships faced by the locals and the death toll which rose over 20,000.
Next up, you will visit the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek, which were used as a burial ground for more than a million people who were killed by the Communist Khmer Rouge regime. Spend some time digesting the difficult history and those heart-wrenching stories. Refresh yourself at a local restaurant time enjoying a delicious local lunch.
Visit the Ta Prohm, which was built in the late 12th century in the Bayon-style temple and left in the same condition in which it was founded – making it different from most of the Angkorian ruins. Proceed to the Yeay Peau temple before heading to a silk weaving village in Tonle Bati and the stunning temple of the Black Virgin at Prasat Neang Khmao.
Head back to your hotel where the tour ends at 6 pm.
Around 8:00 – 8:30: You will be picked up at your hotel to depart for Ninh Binh province (98 Km) and begin your tour of Trang An – Bai Dinh Pagoda.
Around 10:30 – 12:00: You will go to Buddha Prayer place in Bai Dinh Pagoda, the largest pagoda in Vietnam. Here you can see 500 La Han statues as well as the largest 10 meter high bronze Buddha statue weighting 100 tons in Vietnam.
Around 12:30: You will have time for lunch featuring local food specialties such as goat meat, pork and elderberry at a local restaurant.
Around 14:30: You will go to Trang An, where you can join in a boat trip to explore stunning cave complex of mysterious and wild Sang Cave, Toi Cave, Ba Giot Cave, Nau Ruou.
Around 16:30: You will go back to Hanoi.
You will be picked up from your hotel at 8 am by an English speaking tourist guide and taken on a full day tour of Phnom Penh.
First, we will head to the south of Phnom Penh to visit the Ta Prohm Temple, a beautiful temple built in the late 12th century, showcasing a Bayon-style architecture. The temple still retains its original beauty and has literally been let undisturbed over time, a stark contrast when compared to most Angkorian ruins.
Next up on the itinerary is the Yeay Peau temple, the silk weaving village in Tonle Bati and the stunning temple of the Black Virgin at Prasat Neang Khmao.
We finally make our way to the Chisor Mountain, which is an ancient site that is known for offering picturesque views of surrounding Cambodian villages and rice paddies. You can also check out the Phnom Chisor Temple on the top of the mountain.
Head back to your hotel after the tour.

Experience the Cambodian countryside, Kampot and Kep, two of Cambodia’s hidden gems, in just one day!
The tour starts with a pick-up from Sihanoukville, and then a two-hour drive to Kampot by car. Explore Kampot town and catch sight of the rustic French colonial buildings. Discover the history and architecture as we explore the town’s streets.
Immerse yourself in authentic Cambodian culture with visits to a fishing village, traditional salt field, pepper farm and Phnom Chhngok Cave Temple, a brick temple nestled inside the limestone cave dedicated to Shiva.
Then, head to the coastal town of Kep, 25km from Kampot and best known for its seafood, especially crab. Kep is also a French colonial town showing remnants of old French architecture. Now is the best time to see Kep town as the former sea and mountainside villas which were abandoned during war time are now slowly deteriorating. Be thrilled by the bustling activities at the crab market then relax at the tropical beach along Kep’s seashore. Enjoy the laidback and quiet beach environment along Kep’s coastline. You may wish to cool off at its clear waters or simply take in the fresh air and wonderful seascape while you watch locals hanging out.
The tour ends with a drop-off in Sihanoukville.
I just finished a month long of travelling with Intro Travel Thailand and Vietnam legs.
I really enjoyed the tours and the activities that were offered as well as the opportunity to meet some amazing people (both guests and group leaders) from all walks of life and around the world. In short, this experience was life-altering and has shaped my cultural understanding of Thailand and Vietnam as a whole.
In particular, I want to give a shoutout to my Vietnam group leader, Danny. He was truly amazing and catered to all your needs as a friend first then a group leader after, AND I WAS NEEDY ‚.
P.S, Rhi (My group leader from Thailand) was amazing too when I was feeling homesick and down!

I have just completed the 17 day Japan tour and it has been an incredible trip. The itinerary is packed with a wide variety of experiences from an origami class, staying in a 1000 year old temple, seeing snow monkeys (if you are lucky!) and a Samurai class to name a few. There is also plenty of free time throughout the trip to shop and explore which I appreciated as there were a few things I wanted to do which weren’t part of the itinerary.
My group leader Dan is an absolute legend!! It is my second tour with him and he always goes above and beyond to ensure we all have the best experience possible. He truly cares about each individual in the group and ensures everyone feels included. When we had free time Dan gave us plenty of recommendations of things to see and do and took us to additional places. He has an extensive cultural knowledge of Japan and I learnt a lot about Japan which I didn’t know about prior to the trip. It was also my birthday on the second day of the trip and it will definitely be a birthday that I will always remember!
I highly recommend doing this tour, you will not be disappointed!
Thank you so much Dan! 😊

India was INCREDIBLE! The safari, markets, forts, temples & food were all outstanding (especially the Taj Mahal). Ethan & Yoni were great leaders and looked after us so much the whole way! Our local guide was also outstanding and had so much cultural knowledge for us. 10/10 tour and cannot wait to do another!

This was my first trip as a single person and I had a fabulous time. The group of 12 (four couples and four singles) really gelled and were very friendly, supportive and fun. The itinerary was very good, with at least one specific thing to do, see or visit each day. The high points were the tea plantation, the spice farm, the cookery evening, the wonderful scenery and the houseboat . The accommodation was generally very good, but the homestay was too basic to be an enjoyable experience. It didn't feel as though we were guests in someone's home, it felt more like a commercial exercise (eg the host talked of building a hotel next year to accommodate more guests). The food was excellent in most places with some well-chosen restaurants/snack bars, and plenty of choice for vegetarians, but I was a little disappointment at the street food experience, which was just selecting one cold, precooked snack (such as samosa, vada or fritter.) I was anticipating some freshly cooked food (while we looked on) such as rice and dahl or pani puri. Also, I thought that the purpose of visiting the market was to select spices and vegetables to use later in our cookery evening, but there wasn't an obvious link. Our guide, Sree, was flexible, knowledgeable and very accommodating of all our needs.
Overall a really great experience with a great group of people. Will definitely use Explore again for another adventurous trip.

Having been a previous customer for INTRO, I was so excited to be part of their first trip to the Philippines and it definitely did not disappoint. As always from start to finish, the Group Leaders were there to help with anything and everything and the trip itself was just mind blowing. THE BEST way to travel a country and since doing my first group tour with INTRO over 3 years ago now I will never travel any other way.
My favourite activities were the 3 day boat expedition from Coron to El Nido which was just incredible, the waterfalls in Siquijor and all of the snorkelling!
The accommodation was comfortable and better than I expected as it was on all other INTRO tours. Already looking forward the next trip.
