Thanks to the very swift reply of Thinley and his team an easy booking of my 13 days of stay in Bhutan was complete in 3 days including flights to Paro and e-Visa. Thinley was always responsible to my needs during my stay. This local travel specialist does have excellent connections so that my trekking was led by an experienced mountain guide and a team, which made my trekking experience very safe. They do also have a wide variety of 3* to 5* hotels, which accommodate everybody’s need. As a trekker I chose 3* hotels and was very happy.
I did the Mera Peak trekking over 15 days, organized by local tour specialists. Mr. Krishna Subedi (Kris) is the manager of the organization. He is a very good co-ordinator, puts you immediately on whatsapp when you arrive, and keeps following up your trekking and summit experience. When there were small problems, he immediately took action and contacted the right people. My guide Mr. Neyma Sherpa was also very helpfull and an excellent guide.
The trek itself was very enjoyable. The Tea houses were very good and they were very flexible when i prefered another teahouse than the one they already booked.
A few extra things to keep in mind:
- The month May used to be the best month for Mera Peak but we had a lot of rain... May-be April or October is becoming better now...
- Listen to your guide at all times and don't go up to fast. The trekking is also about acclimatizing. Sometimes you need that extra day at 4000m...
- Take a portable solar panel with you and a power bank. (min 12W, 20W is better). It will pay itself back. You pay a lot in the teahouses to get your phone charged (a lot of them also use solar power).
- I personally prefer not to rent climbing gear but to take my own. I always hike and climb with the same pair of C boots with semi-automatic crampons. My C boots are big enough to wear 2 pair of socks if necessary. My smartwhool socks were warm enough on the summit day (-10 to -15 °C)
- Take a porter. They are not expensive and your hiking comfort will increase a lot.
- Don't forget to use sunscreen, especially on the summit day when you leave at 2 am in the dark and you're not thinking about the sun at that time.
- Make sure you are in excellent physical shape. After the summit, you will need 3 more days to get to Lukla.
I had a wonderful time trekking to the Everest Base Camp with Nepal Eco. Chhatra was very enthusiastic in our communications before the trip and furnished me readily with the necessary details of visa, permits, documents, equipment, etc. He responds speedily and is meticulous in his information. My guide, Dawa, was an affable and jovial personality who was always glad to share his abundance of technical and cultural knowledge. We had quite a few drinks together and had a whale of a time in the mountains. I was unfortunate to meet with some ATM hiccups and ran out of cash mid-trek, but Dawa came to the rescue, lending me money and sponsoring my tea most of the time.
After the EBC trek I was supposed to continue on to Island peak, but heeding Dawa's advice on the foul weather I decided against it. Chhatra was kind enough to reimburse me for that part of the trip; I believe few agencies would be as transparent and generous as he. Safe to say, I had the time of my life nonetheless, and it's all thanks to these guys.
If you're looking for an amazing tour of India's Golden Triangle, Rahul is your man. He went above and beyond to show us sights that we would have missed otherwise. I highly recommend him if you want a truly memorable experience.

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is a classic and rewarding trekking route in the Annapurna region of Nepal, known for its stunning views of the Himalayan peaks, charming villages, and lush rhododendron forests.
My journey with this trekking agency for the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek began with excellent communication and organization from the team. They provided detailed information about the trek, itinerary, and what to expect, ensuring that I was well-prepared for the adventure ahead. The team was accommodating and flexible in tailoring the trip to my preferences, making the whole experience stress-free and enjoyable from the start.
Upon meeting Nima Sherpa, my experienced and friendly trekking guide, I knew I was in good hands for the trek. Nima's expertise, knowledge of the region, and passion for the mountains were evident from the beginning, and his warm and approachable nature made him a fantastic companion throughout the journey. Nima not only guided us safely along the trail but also shared insightful stories, cultural tidbits, and interesting facts about the local communities we encountered along the way.
The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek itself was a magical experience filled with breathtaking scenery and memorable moments. The trail led us through picturesque villages, terraced fields, and dense forests of rhododendron, providing a diverse and ever-changing landscape to explore. Each day brought new adventures and challenges, with the highlight being the sunrise hike to Poon Hill, where we were treated to panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges bathed in golden light.
The teahouses and lodges we stayed in during the trek were comfortable and cozy, offering a warm respite after long days of hiking. The local hospitality and delicious meals provided a taste of Nepalese culture and made us feel welcomed and at home in the mountains.
One of the most memorable moments of the trek was interacting with the local Gurung and Magar communities along the way, learning about their traditions, lifestyle, and unique customs. Nima's translations and insights added depth to these cultural exchanges, allowing us to truly appreciate the rich heritage of the region.
Overall, trekking the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek was a truly unforgettable experience. The seamless organization, expert guidance, stunning scenery, and cultural immersion made this journey a highlight of my travels in Nepal. I would highly recommend this trek and the services of this company to anyone looking for a memorable and enriching adventure in the Himalayas.
I had a fantastic trekking trip to the Island Peak, organized by the local operator. The hotels were good and the guide became a close friend of mine. Additionally they were able to change the date of the flight-out of Lukla without any problems. If I ever will do another trekkingtour in Nepal I definitly go back to ACH and I just can recommand to everbody else to do the same!!
