Rishi was the ideal guide: patient, attentive, and always prioritizing our safety. The Sherpa team set a steady, manageable pace and showed remarkable patience throughout. The cook and his team were outstanding, providing plenty of healthy, delicious, and safe meals regardless of the conditions. The porters were exceptional too, handling camp setup and pack-down in challenging weather with professionalism and care.
The only downside? The two long travel days to reach the trailhead—but the breathtaking scenery and warm, welcoming people made it absolutely worth it.

It’s a moderate hike with less challenging trails. But, depending on the elevation gained, you’ll have to prepare yourselves. Trekkers will also have to stay fit to hike Gokyo Lake as it’s quite long and narrow.
The journey begins from Lukla as trekkers make their way through several villages and towns. They follow the trail along the river bank and into the tropical forests full of rhododendron, birch, and fir.
Along the trail, you can many lodges and guesthouses willing to host the travelers. This will give you plenty of options to relax and grab a bite to eat. The trail will take you through small villages and towns before making a long and difficult climb to Gokyo Lake.
This trip was everything we had ever dreamed of and more. The great planning ensured that every detail was taken care of, leaving us free to fully embrace the experience. Most tours were private for my family. Minah and her team did a great job and highly recommend them!

I had a beautiful experience during 16 days in Kathmandu and trekking to EBC with this local travel specialist. Since the pickup at airport, support with hotel , gear shopping’s. My guide Kumar was also excellent and very professional, I couldn’t made it successfully without him and all support provided. This tour was a very good tour blending a mix of cities but also countryside and nature with amazing landscapes where you got to see all the main tourist attractions and was a great introduction to China. Ricky our guide was very good and went above and beyond in a lot of ways for everyone.

We really enjoyed this comprehensive tour of Vietnam. Including time in more rural areas as well as the well known cities and sites, it gave us a great insight into local culture and there was plenty of opportunity to meet the locals who were incredibly friendly. The trip ran seemlesly in the extremely capable hands of our tour leader Diem, one of the best we've had (this was our 6th family holiday with Explore). Highlights would include all of the bike rides, exploring Tam Coc caves by boat, Saigon by cyclo, the amazing food, so fresh and plentiful, and the kids loved haggling for bargains in the markets and shops (especially Hoi An). Accommodation and transport were both of a great standard. Well done Explore!
