It was a great tour to see many towns in France. Great bus, great tour guide. The cities visited are cities that normally are not included in other tour companies and one of the reasons we picked this one is that we could see St. Michel and Lourdes.
Great mix of tourist attractions and small villages with unique features which appeal to us. We enjoy observing the locals, how they live and work daily. The culture, history, architecture and countryside were a big part of the trip. Great tour director and driver made for a memorable experience.
The itinerary was jam packed and covered a lot of cities. A good balance of activities and free time. Our tour guide did a great job of providing a preview of the next day so that we could be sure to plan our time accordingly.
We loved this tour. It is excellent for those who don't know much of France other than Paris. Many highlights - Mont St Michel, Carcassonne, Giverny, Villandry were all as good as anticipated, and Beaune which we thought was just a stopover turned out to be charming. Be aware that considerable time is spent on the coach, particularly between Bordeaux and Villandry, and between the Loire and Normandy. With one exception (the Loire Chateau) the breakfasts were all good though with limited cooked options. There are number of optional excursions. The Lyon Beaujolaas dinner was excellent with an interesting old town tour. The Corniche drive we missed as it centred round a perfumery and shopping. We took a train ride for a very pleasant wander round Nice. Others on the tour went to Antibes. In Arles you can easily do without a guide. The Biarritz train is actually a road train and not exciting other than the stop at the Rocher de la Vierge rock formation but again you get a very good meal. The Basque tour should not really be an optional as due to the position of the hotel there is nothing much else to do. St. Emilion is worth it for those of us who like wine (we do and we did). Versailles is a must, Montmartre we missed can't comment on as we had visited previously on more than one occasion (and really liked), and the Moulin Rouge is, well, Spectacular Spectacular. In summary we got what was paid for and enjoyed almost every minute
The personnel involved were informative and wonderful to interact with. The itinerary was excellent. Unfortunately time restraints shortened some experiences, but they were still wonderfully presented. The driver received many "oohs and ahhs" when displaying his expertise. The stories told by the tour director were great - funny and informative.
It’s a good well rounded excursion around France and there’s a lot to see. Liked the tour and the hotels and the driver and tour director, very helpful and friendly. However the tour is reliant on people being active for all the walking trips and sometimes some people who are on the tour are not - my sister is disabled and found all the walking, especially on cobbles and up/down stairs with no handrails, rather difficult. Sometimes no alternative given but to get off the coach and do the walk regardless.
