Beijing 17-Day Tours and Trips

This was an amazing tour to a fascinating region of China, which satisfied my interest in the history of the Silk Road. It was a non-stop tour involving many different modes of transport to cover the large distances but it was all very well organised by our young guide Tar. The regions and towns we visited differed both geographically and also in terms of ethnic diversity. I particularly enjoyed Xian, the wonderful history museums, the Mingsha dunes, the Mogao Caves filled with Buddhist art, the ruins of ancient Jiaohe and our final stop, Kashgar. The hotels exceeded my expectations: rooms were generally large and comfortable, with aircon and free wi-fi. In all, a memorable and very enjoyable tour!

Overall an eye opening great trip. First off the local guides were fantastic. From Allen in Beijing, Emma in Xian and Helen in Xining through to Tashi and Ber Singh in Tibet and beyond, these folks were simply outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble and every day was another laugh and a smile. Obstacles were overcome and the group was fed watered, bedded down and kept cozy and entertained the entire trip. An extra note to all the drivers without whom we would have been lost. I will never drive in Asia after watching these guys navigate the traffic with style and aplomb while singing along to whatever was on the radio. The accommodations ranged from basic to 5 star and the food was seriously great the entire trip. The sights ranged from the stunning Beijing of palaces and hutongs to the breathtaking warriors in Xian. The brief time we spent in Beijing, Xian and Xining makes me want to see more of China. Tibet, where we spent most of the trip is seriously beautiful. A wide barren land of simple breathtaking landscapes. Truly your camera does not do any of it justice but you just keep taking more shots as you go and hope for the best. Seeing Everest/Chomolungma for the first time is an awesome humbling experience. Watching sunrise across the face the next day is guaranteed cure for altitude sickness. You can forget everything as you sit on a rock and simply watch. We crossed into the green dampness of Nepal and the first rain of the trip and onwards to the madness of present day Kathmandu, greeted with smiles laughter and Namaste everywhere we went. In a few words, loved it. What are you waiting for GO!

Overall this is an excellent trip. I truly enjoyed seeing the sites, participating in the activities, and engaging with the CEOs. Overall it is well-planned, providing an excellent blend of learning and experiencing local culture while still being a vacation.

In September of this year I traveled on 3 trips with this tour company. As I am usually an independent traveler, and usually not keen on group travel, I was overwhelmed with the quality of the three tours, Beijing to Kathmandu, Chitwan and Bhutan Dragon Kingdom. The itinerary was carefully planned and timing was excellent, well balanced with appropriate arrival and departure times. Tour leaders were professional, with excellent knowledge and were all passionate about their areas, with great first aid knowledge. This was extremely important for the high altitudes at which we were traveling and trekking. Care, comfort and safety were paramount. The accommodation was extremely comfortable and the meals wonderful. The groups were small, 4, 8 and 5, and all wonderful and fun company with all participants having similar interests. I will definitely travel with this tour company again.

This was our first group travel experience after many years of independent travel. We enjoyed not having to worry about ongoing transport, accommodation and language issues. While we would have liked to stayed longer in some places, the tour enabled us to see sites we would have found difficult to visit independently. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday with this tour operator.
