We had a really nice time on our three passes Trek. I would definitely recommend doing the three passes over the normal Everest base camp trip as views are much nicer and you see more of the Everest region. Just don't rush the trip too much as you really need the time for acclimatization. Making the trip longer is always the better option then shorter and we have seen quite some people who had big issues with altitude sickness because they went up too fast. There are several peaks you can add additional to the three passes if you have enough time what I would recommend as well. Be careful with the guide you get, at the end it is your trip so he should really adapt to your wishes. Here you have to be strict that the guide is following your wishes and not you his.

I just completed a EBC and Gokyo Valley trip organized by this local travel specialist based in Nepal, what a wonderful itinerary. EBC is a bit of a letdown as there isn't much to see but Kala Patthar, the glaciers, the mountain pass and Gokyo part of the trip certainly make up for it. At times challenging with the altitude but worth the effort. Everything went smoothly with the company, if you are traveling solo expect tto share a room in the tea houses unless you communicate in advance specific needs or request. Most teahouses have sharing accommodations and rely on income form meals, so unless it is planned in advance sharing would be expected. Overall communication was prompt and excellent, our guide was very knowledgeable, experienced, and patient. Our group was very small, just two of us. I had a bit of altitude sickness and was unsure about being able to complete the mountain pass after EBC, I had no doubt arrangements would be made should I needed to come back sooner. The agency was also great with hotel accommodations and tours in Kathmandu. Highly recommend them, Arjum and Raj are geat to work with.

We started our trip from Sotikhola though the jeep can go up to Machhakhola. we didn't expect good Lodges in this trip but our tour operator provided us majority of the stay attached room with comfortable bed. Food was yummy. took jeep from Dharapani as we didn't want to walk along the road.

We did Gokyo Ri trek in August. Being it monsoon season, our biggest concern was the weather. We were ensured it is doable during the rainy season as well and since we had all tickets booked and everything arranged we decided to go with it and it turned out to be the best choice! It is very beautiful in August, all the hills are green and its very warm even at the higher altitude, means less packing. And for me personally, the main advantage was that it is quiet on the trek during off-season. We still met few people, which was nice, but not too many, so you get to enjoy peace and quiet. It also gives you a better choice for accommodation. Visibility is quite good as most early morning the sky is clear and if it rains it only starts late in the afternoon and we never got wet on the trek as our guide was very knowledgeable about the weather and we had always reached our lodge by the time the rain started. I could not recommend this trek enough, it offers absolutely stunning views and Gokyo Ri is quite easy to do even being at a very high altitude. And don't be put off by monsoon rains.

Manaslu, the eighth highest peak on the planet, is sure to be one of the highlights of your Manaslu tour. The Buddhist charm of Tsum Valley is incredibly refreshing as well. We drive to Arughat from Kathmandu where the trek commences. Passing through terraced fields and small villages, we walk past Budhi Gandaki reaching the village of Lapubesi. The walk to Tatopani crosses forests and small villages, bestows a hot spring bath to relax in the evening. Views of Sringi Himal accompanies us on the way to Philim. Passing Chumling we reach Chhokangparo in the Upper Tsum Valley with towering views of Ganesh Himal, Boudha Himal and Himal Chuli. En route to Nile/Chhule, we pass through Piren Phu (pigeon cave), a sacred location which preserved Buddhist murals, scripts and carved stones where we stop for exploration. Our next stop is the Mu Gompa at 3700m from where we move to Rachen Gompa, a nunnery. The walk to Gumba Lungdang passes through pine and rhododendron forests and crosses the Siyar Khola. We rest here and take a trip to the Ganesh Himal Base Camp. The route to Lokpa, our next stop has no proper lodging or facilities, so we start early. From Lokpa to Ghap to Lho, we pass Gurung and Thakali villages. At Samagaon, we take a rest for another day and explore the village. We gradually gain altitude from here to Samdo, Dharmasala and cross the Larke La pass at 5200m to reach Bhimtang which marks the end of the trek. We will now begin our journey back passing through Pokhara and the way back. Whether you wish to stay in Pokhara for a couple of days or go all the way back to Kathmandu is up to you.

We begin with a bus ride from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, the starting point of the Langtang trek. After reaching Syabrubesi, the trek begins in a lush valley in a tropical environment. Another highlight of this trip is the day hike up Tserko Ri (4,984m), a 'small' and safe peak to hike in the area. Although challenging, when atop you will be rewarded with spectacular Himalayan views and a sensation of achievement.
