I literally cannot find the words to express how incredible this trip was for me. 15 days of adventure, fun, adrenaline with meeting some of the best people I have ever met. We started as strangers and we left as really close friends. Our Trip Manager made it unforgettable and went above and beyond to make the trip run as smooth as possible for us. Africa is one of the best places I have ever visited and I can’t wait to return with my two sons and husband in the future. It just has so much to offer and I wouldn’t have done it any other way without Contiki. I traveled with my best friend and cousin and the three of us had such a good time. I do recommend taking any second hand clothes or stationary for the families of the township in Cape Town that you wish to donate. I wish I had known more about the townships and how very little they have in life. Really recommend using the card and app Wise as well for multiple country currencies while there. A few hotels are cash less but in saying that very good to have cash for tipping the locals if you want to. Africa definitely changes your perspective with some things in life and I feel very privileged to be able to see it the way we did. I travelled in October and the weather was perfect, warm further north we went, cooler in Cape Town. The animals and the wildlife in the national parks are just out of this world. We saw the big 5 within 2 hours of being at Kruger National Park. Was just mind-blowing and amazing to see them the way we did. Pack a rain jacket, pack binoculars, pack a head torch and neutral safari clothes. Thanks , thanks Contiki!!

Highlights of Morocco

One of the best Exodus trips I have experienced. Exodus was able to select the best locations of Morocco to provide an experience not to be forgotten for a long time. We were 15 in our group and we were all quite fun and enjoyable with each other during the long bus rides and tour walks and meals together. We enjoyed the tours of Marrakech, Fez, and Essaouira. Quite thrilling to ride the camels on the Sahara Desert. The sunrise and sunsets on the Sahara were spectacular.

Exceptional

Having booked somewhat last minute, we were anxious approaching our first multi day trek, mostly about our fitness (particularly for me as an energetic 57 year old weekend walker without any training regime), but also about travelling with strangers for 8 days. We need not have been. It was hugely challenging, especially with the unseasonably hot weather (34-36C), but the demanding ascents/descents and long days were achievable and gave us a huge sense of achievement at the end of each day. Campsites were amazing, from dusty village to green (but mostly dry) oasis and awe-inspiring mountain plateau. We barely saw a soul during the days and only small numbers of villagers at night. Seeing the little group of green tents already set up below us as we made our final descent of the day and knowing that the wonderful Exodus team would have a absolutely delicious dinner on, a brew and biscuits (or sometimes pancakes straight from the pan) on arrival was a fantastic reward at the end of each day’s walking. It was a real privilege to be looked after by such experienced, dedicated and kind people - and a hardworking mule. We always felt safe and our guide Mohamed ensured that the pace was regulated to push us onwards, but give decent rests. Lunch was a welcome reward each day, and quite extraordinary given the environment to have a hot dish and a beautiful spread of salads and fresh bread with mint tea. Shade was our one issue during the day, this is a dry landscape that is suffering as a result of climate change. But our team always found lunchtime shade and encouraged us to lie down and rest on carpets after we had eaten our meal! Our group were great, lots of different characters and ages, from multiple countries, travelling as couples, friends or individuals; everyone looked out for each other and the conversation was endless and enriching. We felt exceptionally lucky to have made our last minute decision - it was 100% one of our best ever trips.

Excellent trip. Covers all the ancient sites and has the bonus of the Red Sea. Ramy was an excellent guide and couldn’t have done more. Cruise boat was nice. Definitely go to Abu Simbel. Suggest cocktails at the Old Cataract Hotel in Aswan. Only 6 in our group which was nice. Hotel Mercure on the Red Sea was nice with snorkelling from the beach or using FunFly (excellent) located at the hotel. It’s all buffet and busy. There are no English speakers at the hotel and the entertainment is geared towards French & Russians.

Great trip. Our Tour Leader, Yousra, was very knowledgeable when we visited the various locations, especially in the museums and archaeological sites. Also our driver, Ayoub, was a safe and competent driver. Hotels and food were both good with no complaints.

Just incredible. Must do adventure! Accomodation was really nice. Many opportunities for Safari’s but they were all a bit different which made each one unique and worthwhile. Adding in the beaches too you get the best of everything. Highly recommend.
