We were picked up at our hotel and taken to the Game preserve. After being fed lunch and a glass of wine we were escorted to the 2 & 1/2 hour journey to see Rhinos. Giraffes, Zebras, Hippos, Buffaloes, Lions and Elephants. Our guide gave us great info on all animals. Highly recommended if you are staying in Cape Town.

The majestic coastline offers drama worthy of being called "Nature's Greatest Show." We'll be able to see the union of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans (as per legend) and may even feel the brisk wind that is dubbed the "Cape Doctor" for its presumed curative powers. Following the coastline along False Bay, we'll return to Cape Town by way of Simon's Town, where we visit the Penguin colony at Boulders Beach (for own account) and Fish Hoek fishing village. Before our return, we'll stop for afternoon tea & cake. We return to Cape Town, passing the University of Cape Town and the Groote Schuur Hospital.

This picturesque circular tour takes you from Cape Town to the seaside town of Hermanus. The road makes its way through Sir Lowry’s Pass, a scenic mountain pass that crosses the Hottentots-Holland Range. At the start of the pass you can look back for a panoramic view at the low-lying area that stretches out towards Cape Town. Nestled between mountains and sea, the town of Hermanus is not only very beautiful but offers some of the best land-based whale watching opportunities in the world (August-November). Close sightings of the Southern Right whale are likely, as they come into the bay seeking sanctuary in the cold winter months. You will be taken on a panoramic drive along Rotary Way and will explore the heart and centre of Hermanus. On the drive back, we will continue to Bouchard Finlayson Wine Estate for a wine tasting on this prestigious vineyard. which presents further possibilities of whale (and even dolphin) sightings. The tour departs from Durban heading northward along the coast to northern KwaZulu-Natal. The first stop is the town of St Lucia and the estuary inside the iSimangaliso Wetlands Park. There you will board a riverboat for a 2-hour guided tour of the estuary. The local guide will inform you of the reserves history and its incredible wildlife. Previously known as the Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park, iSimangaliso Wetlands Park was declared South Africa's first Natural World Heritage Site (UNESCO) and is considered South Africa's third largest park with 280km of near pristine coastline and 328 000 hectares of magnificent scenery. The protected area is home to one of the largest population of hippopotami in SA, an estimated 1000 crocodiles as well as a wealth of plant, bird and animal life. The park was proclaimed a world heritage site because of the rich biodiversity, unique ecosystems and natural beauty occurring in a relatively small area. Animals occurring in the park include lion, African elephant, leopard, black and southern white rhino, buffalo and in the ocean, whales, dolphins, and marine turtles including the leatherback and loggerhead turtle.
