The trip was incredible - the cultural activities, the scenery, the people, the animals, the food, and everything else South Africa had to offer. We got remarkably lucky with some of the animal sightings which made the trip extra special. While there were some long travel days and it was fast-paced, the itinerary was a good mix of safaris and other experiences that kept it feeling fresh, and the accommodations were fantastic. Our trip manager was amazing. He was organized and good at communicating the day's activities, made sure everyone was having fun and kept the good vibes going, and gave us great recommendations during free time, as well as provided unique insight on the history of South Africa. Our drivers and game drive guides were also wonderful and full of knowledge. This was my first Contiki trip and it was an amazing experience, I'd recommend it to anyone.

Fantastic holiday with great company. Our guide, our hosts and most of all the animals lived up to and far exceeded any expectations. Our guide, KK, is worthy of a special mention. He was hugely knowledgeable about every bird and animal we encountered, he had the patience of a saint and quietly and calmly sorted out every problem we encountered, allaying any fears from the group along the way. He knew exactly where to find the animals and how to get the best views, often arriving on the scene before any other vehicles, and being the one to allay the news across the park of unique sightings. He made our holiday.

I loved this trip. Our guide KK was excellent, calm, knowledgeable, patient and kind. Botswana is a truly beautiful country with friendly people. Of all the wildlife tours I have done this was the best. The trip notes were a little brief on the accommodation and lack of power availability (i am being generous here)! I believe it is always best to be upfront about what explorers are letting themselves in for so that they can prepare properly. I would love to do another tour to Botswana, same guide, something else!

I had a fabulous time in Botswana, my holiday exceeded my expectations. I was amazed how close we got to the animals and birds and how many we saw. They were relaxed and weren't bothered by us. Our tour leader, KK, was great and looked after us so well. He is very knowledgeable and was great at spotting the wildlife and answered all our questions. There were many long drives some over bumpy, sandy tracks particularly in Chobe and tarmac roads excellently navigated by KK's safe driving. We were well looked after by lovely staff at our various accommodations. I was happy with the food generally and particularly the variety while we were camping where the food was cooked on an option fire. We drove through Namibia for a few hours and had to pay the equivalent of 80 Euro for visas which were introduced earlier in the year. I think Explore should consider changing the tour to avoid this extra cost. Also the itinerary notes need updating, the camp drop toilets are not 'water based', they use sand. One area was referred to being wet / marsh but it dried up over 10 years ago. One of the people on our tour is passing on more details but your tours leaders can advise you.

This was one of the most incredible trips I've ever been on. *personal info removed by Feefo* was a fabulous tour manager and made the trip so entertaining and informative. It was very fast paced and I had not much sleep but it was worth it for all of the wonderful sites we saw and experiences we had. The luxury cruise boat was a highlight with all of its amenities, as were all of the temples we visited. Included meals were fine but we bought snacks to make up for any food we didn't like. Our group was a large one but pretty much everyone got on well together and had a blast. I would have loved an extra day in Hurghada to explore the town as we arrived at night and left at 7.30am so didn't get time to explore. Perhaps if the first day didn't start at 7pm (as Day 1 doesn't really count as a day since it's just a registration meeting) and was an afternoon of exploring Cairo that might have made room for more time somewhere else at the other end. Definitely take imodium tablets with you as over half of the group got sick throughout the week. Overall the whole week was amazing. I've made some friends for life and was so sad to leave at the end.

An absolutely outstanding trip - I visited Uganda in 1994 to see Gorillas and the wildlife etc - so this return trip was to see how the country had changed. There were a lot of changes but some things have stayed the same. The people are still so friendly, helpful and hospitable. Obviously the greatest expected highlight is trekking to the Gorillas and it was beyond expectations - our guide Robert had arranged for us to trek to the same family group I had seen 31 years ago - a small but extremely meaningful gesture - that is what makes a trip memorable. Getting literally a few feet away from the entire family group was sensational. But there is so much more to this trip - Walking with Giraffes and Zebra, admiring the Golden Monkeys, Dancing with the Ride 4 a Woman group, Laughing with Batu Tribespeople, making coffee from the bean, drinking the Banana Gin and reflecting on history at the Rwanda Genocide Memorial. The accommodation was superb - the lodges are all in the countryside environment - so you are surrounded by wildlife. The "Hot Water Bottles" and roaring fires make a very homely feel. There's even a couple of swimming pools at the perfect points in the trip Food was outstanding - maybe just a little too much - but extremely tasty, varied and offering the chance to experience local cuisine. One Tip - most places accept US Dollars - but in Uganda they are very meticulous on the quality - they MUST be clean, fresh, flat notes. No rips, tears, added pen ink or marks. Moderate pace is the perfect grading - Early morning starts but most days we had some spare time to relax, chill, enjoy the sights, drink and laugh. A highly recommended trip!
