Delhi is a beautiful and wonderfully vibrant city that has been booming for many years now and it's only getting stronger! Not only is it open to the world's largest Hindu temple and southern Asia's largest shopping mall, but it's also a world hub for business, technology and fashion. Despite all of the city sprawl that has happened with its massive growth, the city didn't forget to keep itself sustainable and green with hundreds of parks and protected forest reserves as well.

This was a very interesting and varied tour which coivered a lot of ground in two short weeks. Our Guide, Sanjeev was a great tour leader, who dealt with any issues quickly and efficiently throughout the trip. For me, the main highlight was the Ranthanbore National Park which as an absolute must for any lovers of wildlife

This extension trip is fantastic, good value, well organised and Ranthambore is amazing. I did 3 safaris - one zone 10 (buffer zone) so not likely to see tigers and the other 2 in zone 2 and 3 (premium zone) the guides were fabulous, the birds and wildlife wonderful and the 2 tigers were saw were close and stunning. The rules and ethics were closely followed - no radios to call other jeeps to the tigers and respectful distances were maintained from animals. The hotel and food was lovely

As an introduction to India this trip ticked all the boxes for me. The pace is full on and there are some early starts but seeing the Taj Mahal at sunrise is something I Wii never forget. Our guide was brilliant, extremely knowledgeable and organised. He definitely made sure our experience of India was unforgettable. I am looking forward to going back one day.

Fantastic!

A great trip. I had been most looking forward to achieving my first 6000m summit ( which I did 😊), but the trek itself was absolutely stunning. Fantastic coloured landscapes, very exciting river crossings, great array of alpine flowers (never seen so many eidelweiss in one place!), amazing food and crew. Would highly recommend this trip.

India exceeded all of my expectations! It was somewhere I had always wanted to go and this trip gave me the first little taste of the country! From the bustling streets of Delhi to the beautiful pink walls of Jaipur it was absolute magic! Seeing the Taj Mahal at sunrise was truly one of the most breathtaking things I have ever had the chance to witness and such a beautiful moment for me and my dad to share together. The guide was absolutely fantastic and filled with knowledge. He made the experience so special and personalised to each and every person. He made sure the whole trip ran so smooth and went off without a hitch. I simply haven’t got enough of India an is already planning my next trip back!

Embracing the wonder

This trip exceeded all my expectations. The stillness and solitude of the terrain. The beauty. The glacial ascent. My first time at altitude-and I loved it. Valerie, is a very wise, steady and trusted lead-a humble holder of stories and knowledge. And great food and guides too. And a wonderful group spirit. I could not have asked for more.

Delhi – Tour Highlights and Travel Tips

Tour Highlights

  • The Jama Masjid is India's largest mosque and definitely a sight to see with its large archways and two tall towers! It's also located right next to Old Delhi's Red Fort area which is an absolutely stunning sight to see in the old city and was the home of the emperors until the mid-1850's.
  • No trip to India would be complete without immersing yourself in one of their many wonderful markets. Located near to the Red Fort, you'll find anything from spices, nuts, herbs, tea, rice, and so much more! Be prepared as the smell from the spices can be overwhelming on your first time.
  • While the Taj Mahal isn't within Delhi, it is definitely one of the top travel destinations and is located only 3 hours away from the city and is a very worthwhile day trip.

Travel Tips

  • While the official language in Delhi is Hindi, English is very widely spoken as it is considered the language for business/government use. You shouldn't have a problem being understood when asking for help or directions.
  • When traveling around India, you cannot use foreign currency so be sure to convert your dollars or other currency to the Indian rupees before you go around. Many hotels, stores and restaurants will accept credit cards, but for taxis, tours, and street vendors you will need local currency for it.
  • India has different seasons, so be sure you check what the weather will be like when you go. Spring time (May/June) can be terribly hot followed by monsoon season from June – August. So best to go before spring or during fall to get the perfect weather.
